Which are these "more talented" strikers of which you speak?!

Here you go again. You replied to my post in a decent manner before - and I gave you a civil, decent reply and it was open debate. And you choose to drag it it into unnecessary digs. It’s very odd.

Not one part of what I have said it ‘slagging off’ or ‘moaning’. You said we KNOW Deeney is off. We don’t know that at all. I get that you don’t like people to point out flaws in what you say - but your reactions are childish at best.

True if any of the forwards we have I believe it's Deeney who will be staying. Gray,Success, Perica and Penaranda have to be moved on.
Fletcher is unbelievably baffling to me, not that I've followed his career but it screams at a panic buy you'd gamble on the last day of the window. But he's here and should be settled before preseason starts, we have to give him the benefit of the doubt however strange the signing is. It's probably going to be another Glenn Murray waste of money though.

Agreed on all fronts. I just don’t think it’ll be easy to shift on those players.

We might be able to make use of the partnership and send Perica back to Udinese somehow? I suspect that some club might take a punt on rehabilitating Penaranda’s career too. The length of Success’s deal and his wages could be problematic in shifting him, certainly domestically. And I still see Gray as being exceptionally hard to move on this summer.

    We can hope though!

There have been a few rumours about Gray and Ipswich. I believe they've got an influx of money from somewhere. Would he go to league one? We can hope.
Perica may have a chance of returning to Belgium. His stats weren't the worse.
Success is the one who should eff off to Udinese.
Deeney is going to be near on impossible imo.

There are at least two, and I would seriously hope there are more by the end of the window:

Pedro put up similar numbers in his first full season to Fletcher's career best numbers. He is significantly more talented at a far younger age.

Hard to compare them directly as they have never played in the same division, but Cucho put up far better numbers than Fletcher in both the top flight and second tier. Even if you say the Spanish second tier is weaker than the championship - Cucho put up better numbers in the Spanish second tier than Fletcher did in league one at the same age.

I personally think Gray is a better striker than him as well (but obviously he is on wages 4 times what he is worth and I would hope Fletcher is not)

They've just been taken over. Not why someone would spend £40m on a League 1 side but still.

Ok maybe there is something to it. By the look of it Defoe has been mentioned also.

We still have no idea how much of a role, yet many are automatically assuming the worst already.

The fact that he was signed means that they do have some role in mind - he obviously hasn't been signed to be loaned out like Pollock has.

If his wages are low and he is 3rd/4th choice and we manage to ship out a number of Deeney, Gray, Success, Penaranda and Perica that is fine. However, people are well within their rights to think he is **** given that he has been **** for his entire career to date; and they are well withing their rights to express concern that we will fail to ship out the above shitters because it is something we have historically struggled with.

None of this is of any relevance to Pollock though who seems like a promising young player snapped up for a relative pittance who may well benefit the club in the future either by playing for them or financially through a sale.

He is closer to Godber's age than Norman Stanley!

The only reasoning I've convinced myself about Fletcher is that there is already deals in motion for atleast four of those you mentioned.
Deeney I believe is still going to be with us next season unfortunately. I can't see anyone taking him. But then again I'm almost always wrong

Ipswich took Ellington off our hands so they might just be crazy enough.

If those people were being criticised for just being "overly critical" of a signing or having questionable views on a particular subject then I would agree with you. I highly doubt that Fletcher on a five year deal was any bodies ideal signing upon promotion. If someone is going to use seemingly every single thread to moan, slag off, be overly negative and use every opportunity to grind an axe over every decision the club may or may not take to the exclusion of any sensible discusion, then they cant really have complaints if they in turn are criticised for it.

Havent they already said that Deeney can stay as long as he wants? Doesnt sound like hes going anywhere.
