As in nowhere near the Grimsby first team? Could still be an upgrade in fairness.

Only 19 so another one for the future?

Some kind of strategy may be emerging.

But he's British and never played for Udinese B so I'm out.

Played 44 times in the league for them tbf! While Baah and Doig might come in and be squad options for us next season, surely this lad would be loaned out to League 1/the Champo?

Isn't this another one that Cristiano Giaretta follows on Instagram?
Already signed Baah, so who knows..

We could sign a load of British players like this and the media would still call us a team full of Udinese ejects or something.

Not if he's coming in to replace any of the U23s that have been shifted on.

When we were first linked with him I made this post:
    "
Seems to have been alright in a terrible Grimsby side with a 6.98 whoscored rating. However the season seemed to catch up with him and he got dropped in February.

Grimsby fans don't seem blown away by him, suggest he's calm and has potential, but also a bit "agricultural", slow and chunky. Fair to say he's one who'd either start off in our reserves or on loan if he signed.

"Waterfall and Pollock are more agricultural in their approach to defending and the two as a pairing was just too basic for my liking. "

"Where were you saying this? Everybody on here was frigging themselves senseless over Pollock at the start of the season and every time I suggested he's not that good I got about 20 red crosses."

"Personally I think it would be wrong, and unfair, to write Pollock off yet or be too heavy with criticism.
He's a 19 year old lad. Still developing his game as he gains experience.
He plays in a position where it is rarer for young players to be thrown into the side in their teenage years. He has played all of his football in a team that's either been an average lower half team or a team that's struggled massively at the bottom. And he's still only made about 50 EFL appearances.
Still plenty of potential with him. We're very quick to go over the top with praise just as we are quick to write him off and claim that he's not that good all of a sudden.
Young players can be inconsistent as they're still developing. It wouldn't have helped him being in such a poor team this year that lacks leadership."

"Pollock is still developing and has an obvious flaw in his game"

"Agreed. I just hope that we don't feel obliged to keep waterfall due to payoff cost if we got rid, and thus allow Pollock to leave. Although they are v similar Pollockis still a teenager and still developing and is already the calmer, less error prone defender (and scores goals). He would definitely be great for marshaling some of the big lump target men in the NL. "

"Waterfall & Pollock are equally interesting. Given the success of Menayese & Hewitt it's difficult to see us needing both of them (W&P), as they seem very similar (unless of course Pollock can lose a bit of weight and develop a turn of speed"

What rating on Whoscored.com does Gino base all his signings on ?

I've heard from reliable ITK sources that anyone above 6.95 he will offer a deal . If it’s over 7.035 he will offer a 5 year deal to.

Can any of the forum ITKers confirm ?

We released quite a few u23s so I assume he is just a replacement (who maybe they see has the potential the step up).

I think the Pozzos transfer business is generally useless but dont really see this particular is making us a laughing stock.

There's not really any downside to this (unless he starts for us!), reckon he's loaned out rather than in the U23s though as surely someone who's played regularly at League 2 level won't be happy with U23 football

Christ, cheer up Malts ! You seem to be on a real downer. What’s wrong with hoovering up a few young prospects in Mid May ? You seem to be treating each suggested signing as a planned first team starter next season. The playoffs haven’t even finished yet :).
