Suarez currently under restraint and coming slowly to terms with the realisation he was lured onto a bogus 'trip to london'. Holebas being brought in on a gurney to tell him he'll get used to it and there's nothing he can do.
Look guys - you can't have it both ways Everyone thinks the Pozzos are a mean negotiating team Well if you play hard ball on issues in negotiations (if indeed that is the cause of the delay) then deals can take longer to close Just be patient - Gino could have done a deal at 10m and 80k a week on Jan 1 !!
Perhaps during the physical he has "Collins John Syndrome" and they need to sort out how to lengthen one of his legs.
If he only arrived at the training ground at 1:30pm by the time he got sorted out ready for his medical to begin an hour could have easily passed. Then the medical itself is a really long process, he's probably only been having his medical for the past 5 hours which isn't long considering some medicals are at least a day or two depending on results. He's not just running on a tredmill for an hour and then done. There is MRI scans, X-rays, blood test, organ tests and whole bunch of other stuff I can't remember. Depending on the club, it really depends on what they do, some clubs like ours are much more thorough when it comes to player medicals. A player is an investment and for insurance purposes a club needs to know that they are making a good decision when it comes to insuring a player. Perfect example is Charlie Austin, he went to Southampton but the reason a lot clubs passed on him is because they view him as uninsurable and he is a massive injury risk. Therefore not worth the money in transfer fees as well as wages. Basically medicals take a really long time if a club chooses to do every single test which I'm sure we do. I would expect him to be announced late tonight or at some point tomorrow, either way I wouldn't worry about it. No news is good news, the club would have announced they pulled out of the deal if anything happened or if they have found something wrong with him in his medical.
Fair point, it was Manuel Almunia's medical at the club he was about to join after leaving us found that he had a heart defect meaning he had to retire there and then, I doubt we want to potentially miss something like that and I reckon the medical is more intense now than it was 3.5 years ago.
1m 20s ago @WatfordFC OFFICIAL: #watfordfc is delighted to confirm the signing of Mario Suarez from @acffiorentina
Maybe his bird is having seconds thoughts and prefers Florence.. Its two fish and chips and a pint or wine for the lady down the Moon deal tomo so praps we have some hope they might see the light and realise Watford is the place to be :drinking:
flew over luton and decided he wanted to play for them and they nabbed him at the last minute. sorry guys
Sky Sports saying it will be done in the next 48 hours. We may have to wait a bit longer. Page 50 maybe?
He played for Celta so he is a bit of a scummer, but I'll forgive him....Only if he turns out to be a great signing for us, otherwise I am going to have to boo him on a regular basis.
I am looking forward to this fella signing and given a warm Watford welcome - followed by being thrown under the bus as soon as he has a bad game.
The last time I was this excited about a new signing was when we announced we'd got Steven Berghuis…..
I am not as excited as Paul Ince and that fit Sky bird seemed to be when discussing this deal earlier on SSN, he might be good but I don't have a good feeling about it, I had the same feeling before the Roger Willis signing.
The hold up was caused by me and few others who had turned up to boo his signing. I mean i think he's a great signing and all that, but there's a way we go about things and he needs to get used to it.
