True but it's human nature, when the result doesn't matter, there's really no need to risk injury in a full-bloodied challenge, no need to risk your best striker etc etc.

Yup can’t see those last two play off places being decided until last game so all three of those will prob have something to play for .

For me Scum and Plymouth probs down . Between Stoke and Cardiff as I think Eustace will get Derby out of of trouble

There seems to be an awful lot of childish pleasure being expressed from our sad neighbours terrible misfortune…
I can’t believe this of our caring supportive fanbase - almost as if people are actually enjoying their sad demise and actually want them to go down..

Surely not? Oxford were magnificent in defeating their mighty opponents on Saturday.

I'm glad they picked up 3 points against such high-flying opponents but they were dreadful and will need to pick up a few more points from somewhere. At least they have a small headstart thanks to us !

At least Plymouth should be able to pick up an easy 3 points on the 29th!

Yeah Oxford have been plummeting . The rest of their opponents will be giving them a sterner test than we could .

Their next 3 games Hull away, Leeds home and Stoke away. Unlikely to get anything from Leeds. Really need to win the other two. Looks like they will need around 47 points to stay up. Means they need to win half of the games left to play. Quite a big ask when you've won 9 out of 38 so far

Comedy OG gives them all 3 points at Hull. The lucky scummers suddenly winning away when defeats at Cardiff and today would’ve buried them.

They were always going to be too good to go down - it was just very amusing that they somehow managed to get themselves into this position when their overall performances, based on chances created and chances conceded should have seen them sitting comfortably at 13th in the league. Now they have got their confidence back it's difficult not to see them pulling comfortably clear. Plymouth, Oxford and one of Stoke/Cardiff/Hull/Derby to go down. https://footballxg.com/xg-league-tables/

Just shows how much things can change. A few weeks ago they were all but done, now 7 points from their last three games have given them more than hope of staying up

If Derby beat Preston on Wednesday the gap will be 3 points and Luton's GD is awful. They've got Leeds next so you would hope that's a defeat plus a lot of the sides around them have winnable games. Very much suspect it will go to the final day

They’ll stay up spend money and it will be us in their position next season. If they are going to go down it has to be this season.

It's incredible how teams down at the bottom tend to wake up at this stage of the season, almost as if they suddenly remembered that they actually have to try to win points!

3 points from safety, pretty much 4 due to their awful GD. Leeds at home Saturday which you would think they will lose so with six games to go they be a minimum of 4 points behind. The next 3 are Derby away, Blackburn home and Stoke away. Probably need to win at least 2 of those if not all 3. Still think they will get out of it though

  25. Oscar calling

Leeds are bottling it now the pressure is on from Burnley, so I think Luton will get at least a point. Blackburn realistically have nothing to fight for so 3 points is on the cards.
I think it will all come down to whoever wins the Derby game will survive

Annoyingly they’ve won their 2 6-pointers of late, though Derby are on **** hot form and Stoke are picking up a bit. It’s time to find out whether Ismael is really a Watford secret agent deliberately losing to all the other teams down there, or whether he’s just a **** manager!

Hopefully a good old fashioned spanking by Leeds Saturday will see the gap open up again. As others have said the goal difference is worth a point. Hopefully Cardiff , Hull and Derby pick up some away points to really stick it to them.

It was just one game and there have been plenty of bigger surprises in the Championship, but looking at how Huddersfield have struggled during much of their time in League 1 (no goals at home in 2025 apart from a thrashing of relegation certs Crawley and no shots on target at a Lincoln side who have nothing to play for) it makes me wonder how we contrived to lose at home to them after taking the lead in Val’s penultimate home game…

If they lose at Derby then considering they play three promotion chasing sides in their final games it's done more or less. Also, if they lose at Derby and Cardiff can take advantage on the weekend then it could have them needing snookers to stay up. Let's hope Eustace can provide the perfect tonic, because like we really care about getting anything at home to Boring Burnley...

Counting on Derby to be helpful next weekend.

Watch out for Hull's matches though - still to host Derby and then at Pompey on the final day. Need the points to go the right way in those to give everyone some distance. Though that goal difference really is a problem for the Scum.
