On Saturday I wore a green jumper. As we went on to win, this is irrefutable proof of the luckiness of that colour and I am also wearing green again tonight. Has anyone else helped the team along v Villa by doing something lucky and will it be repeated tonight?
Instead of listening to John Marks, I just had "Gillette Soccer Saturday" on in the background as I caught up on some paperwork. As I can't go tonight I shall do the same.
I can’t remember what pair of pants I was wearing, but I can only assume they’re lucky so as a precaution I shall wear every pair I own. That’s two pairs of pants.
A friend sent me whatsapp message saying "Important goal for the hornets", 1 min before I saw the goal on my river, denying me a RELEASE.... So I can get him to keep sending important updates before I watch them during the match tonight.
I was away with Mrs UEA and only caught snippets of the first half on the car radio and then SSN. Then at half time mugged the whole lot off and went for a swim, so was complete radio silence until getting back to our room after the match was over. Not sure I can afford to copy that tonight.
I invited three blonde 25 year old models home for the timeof their lives in the bedroom. They laughed and walked off but I could invite them again I guess.
I'll be having another word with my old mate "Big Pete" RIP, all 6'7" of him, to get up front again and nod in a goal or three tonight.
I went into the villa game expecting a humiliating loss and an awful performance. So more of the same tonight I guess.
The three times I paid very little attention to the match because I was playing games with my daughter we won (all away games of course). So I plan on saving our season by going to the playground.
At Villa Park my son found a 50p coin and we joked that the spirit of Lloyd Doyley was with us, because we used to call him "50p head" due to his unpredictable heading direction. When we won via a header it was decided that the 50p was lucky and would be needed for the rest of the season. The next day my son noticed that the year on the coin was the same as Dennis' birth year, who was , of course, our goalscorer. Furthermore, the game was on the anniversary of my Dads death. His name ? Dennis. Am going to have trouble recreating that set of fortuitous events, but hopefully the power of the lucky 50p will get us over the line.
I'll try to sit amongst a bunch of coked-up urchins who spend the entire game singing about Luton getting battered everywhere they go
I can’t attend tonight as I have finally succumbed to COVID having thus far avoided it. Watford have never lost a game when I have COVID. You’re welcome.
You're in luck, the urchins are going tonight. We've obviously done our jobs well and given them a life of football misery following this club.
I didn't watch it. Might repeat that tonight. Although the only other games I haven't watched this season were Newcastle + Brighton in which we drew and lost so make of that what you will.
I missed the United game. I have attended every home game since. I am also missing this evening’s. I attended Villa having not travelled away since pre-covid.
On Saturday my missus found a ring necked Dove on our driveway, which looked in a bad way from the high winds. I took it wrapped in a towel and drove it to a wildlife rescue centre at the same time our match was being played. I could only listen and rejoice to the goal on route and as I pulled in to the centre we won the game! Unfortunately the bird died.. but I had the biggest grin when handing it over. Looking out for a few fallen birds tonight!
