Apparently someone let off a flare at the ground during the minutes silence for Prince Philip. It was reported on Sky Sports. There's moral outrage on Facebook about this and someone suggested both Luton and us should be deducted six points by the Football League. I have argued that if it is proven to have been a Luton fan (which it probably was) then we should be awarded the three points as punishment. Let's see if I gets any interest on social media. Let’s be fair, there was no way we could pass the ball on that pitch, it was a lottery, we were brought down to their standard and they outmuscled us right from the start! Fermina troundled off just like he did away at palace when he was injured a few years ago, stupid challenge to make when you are on a yellow, and people saying Bachman was at fault would had been moaning it he hadn’t made the tackle and the chap had scored! You're wasting your time. Most of our fans care more about Bournemouth or Crystal Palace. I wish it wasn't the case but it is. Only old farts care about luton anymore. Thats the thing, it is history. Ancient history. The vast majority of whatever that scummer was rambling/listing happened decades ago. They have spent the last, nearly, 30 years floating between league one and the conference looking enviously at our position. Theres been whole generations of supporters at Watford come through during that time and Luton is now irrelevant to them. As they are too most people in football. No one, except Luton, care that once in 1856 they managed to get 24 thousand for a game or that once they managed to win the second tier donkies years before any of us were born - none of it has stopped them fading into obscurity
I agree with you. Ancient history. It makes me feel sad though, probably as it's a reminder of my advancing years. For luton the failure of ambition is like a long lingering death and the disappointment of their circumstances will never go away. The resentment will only grow stronger with the passage of time as the clock ticks off the remaining days of their lives, and any residual hope slips like sand through arthritic fingers. Meanwhile, we'll yo-yo up and down between the top divisions. Briefly getting the odd world class player here and there, losing the odd cup final. Is it really any better? Hell yes!
Selective list...no mention of highest league finish; no mention of highest number of goals in a single season by a single player; no mention of widely acknowledged world class players whilst still representing the club; no mention of average attendance as % of town's population; etc etc. But fair do's on the ones you've listed, which is an interesting insight into the clear void within your existence outside of this rivalry.

I can tell you it's shyt in the premier league, but it is also shyt in the championship. At least we got to see players like Deulofeu in our shirt and get to a cup final. Shame it ended in a world record defeat. But what's the alternative for teams like ours? I don't look with any envy at your situation really. Yes our owners are ****s, but if our owner was from Watford would anything really be any better? So long as we don't go bankrupt I don't really care what happens with us. The best you can hope for is what we had. Promotion, a few years in the top league at best, then back to where you started with nothing but a mild feeling of disappointment about the whole experience.
