I will be watching the match with some mates in a pub in St. Albans before going on to watch the Saints play Welling United at 3pm. Anybody know if there is likely to be an 'interesting' atmosphere in the pub given St Albans proximity to the hellhole to the north or is it mainly Hornets there?
Ticket purchased and am weirdly confident about getting a win although I'm sure that confidence will have disappeared by the time the game starts. I'm still annoyed I have to go by coach
Just spotted this: https://tickets.watfordfc.com/usercontent/documents/pdf/A1 Groups.pdf They seem to have the policy you linked to and this thing floating around at the same time.
I didn't have time to faff about yesterday and assumed they'd all be gone but I phoned the ticket office this lunchtime on the off chance. Not only did someone pick up the 'phone pretty much straight away but I was able to get three seats together. Great success!
Am I right to assume it’s not sold out yet? Can’t see anything on the Club/Moose twitter pages. Just wondering if it’s worth me trying to get one tomorrow when Group B sales open.
I'd say yes, definitely. The very helpful ticket office lady that I spoke to at about 14.00 today said they had plenty of single seats left.
Am I mixing this memory up with another event, or was the injustice of our bus humiliation v their free rein compounded further last time around by our fans actually being the ones restricted as to where we could walk in the vicinity of Vicarage Road? Can't remember if that was for them or something else.
October 2022 when we beat them 4-0 yes Watford fans who sat in the Graham Taylor & Family Stands iirc had to turn left outside the ground towards the hospital and then loop round if we wanted to get into the town centre. Not sure about the Rookery & SEJ. The ridiculousness of the coaches in April 2023 came as a result of trying to stop a repeat of the trouble that occurred pre match in October. I remember Bedfordshire Old Bill stopped the coaches just before the turning off the M1 for what seemed like an eternity
Yeah we were shepherded to the ground by the police and actively routed away from the High Street by Moons. Despite that I still ended up in the middle of the scum lot on Vicarage Road due to mobility issues caused by a ruptured achilles a few months prior.
Doubt there'll be many given they're at home but definitely a few knocking about St Albans. Was out for a drink on the evening they got promoted and some orange clad Stig of the Dumps pitched up gurning and dribbling. It was a simple kind of happiness, like they knew something good had happened that day for them but weren't quite sure what it all meant.
Historically, St Albans is much more Watford than L*t*n and there are probably as many ‘fans’ there who go to Arsenal. In recent times I’ve spotted the odd L*t*n shirt in Harpenden, but that’s more of a rugger town anyway.
I think also a lot in Harpenden support the big teams . On current form they probably won’t be giving it the big one about having Rob Edwards. Seems to be under pressure now.
I think beyond Harpenden is the point at which the balance switches from us to sc*m. Eric Morecambe moved there & tossed a coin to decide who to start watching.
Tried getting a ticket online and it glitched out, then showed up sold out. Rang the club out of hope rather than expectation and they do have tickets left, so recommend anyone still trying to call through.
Maybe the Herts Constabulary could make 'officially organised club travel' a condition of allowing any tickets to be sold to them. And then quarantine them on the coaches then send them straight back after the game for 'safety reasons'.
That's all very well, the proper fans who just want to come and watch the game would do just that. The problem is the louts who have no intention of going to the game but would still come to the town to cause trouble.
So none of those louts even go to the game? Doubtful…otherwise why don’t they turn up mob-handed every weekend in Watford?
Update: have been offered a ticket and will be going to that sh*thole to see the Watford. Hate the scum.
Speaking of tickets the club are obviously trying to make the most of the good home form by having matches on sale over Christmas already !
You don’t need to be short much for something to be a cash flow problem and I’m guessing the absurd virtual begging bowl didn’t go as well as they hoped.
The share issue thing was a joke but this maybe down to just allowing people to purchase tickets early knowing full well that it's an expensive time of the year and this just spreads out the cost. I don't know but that would make sense
