Seems to be something going on behind the scenes. Perhaps Mr.Integrity being sounded out by Salford Reds has caused some players to lose faith and decide not to put in performances. Or perhaps some players have had their heads turned for example Tielemans and Barnes have been linked with big money moves away.

Something is certainly off. While losing players to the predations of the so called big six they are able to source replacements. Losing Fofana has not helped or Justin who was coming into his own at right back. Also losing Ricardo Pereira. When he is absent they lose an avenue in attack and a more than competent defender. Not to mention changing formation under the man of honour. Surprised not to see Daka feature more. Perhaps there seems to be too much sentimentality attached to Vardy.

If we can put in the same levels of effort and aggression we may have a chance to snatch a point. If we do not then we will be exposed because they still have real quality where it matters. As proven last week we can score and we can score big (see Everton and Villa). Dennis, King and Sarr and in time Pedro can put it away. Still to see with Cucho. But the problem for us is midfield with injuries and at the back where only Nkoulou looks the part. At least it looks like Louza is actually the player we have seen in Ligue One and why Woolwich were interested last summer. Seems Claudio is already working his magic tactically and getting players to perform to their strengths.

Can’t see anything beyond a win here for us here .

1-3 - Dennis, King and Cathcart header late on. Inevitable Vardy penalty for them , saved by Foster and Steptoe scores on the rebound .

I would imagine we will be beaten 0-4

    then beat Chelsea 6-0

then lose to Man City 12-0

We will lose 1-0 just like we did to Palace after beating Liverpool. The only difference being that Liverpool were good and Man Utd are not.

Perfectly reasonable to imagine most of this scenario.

Although only conceding 12 to Man City is a bit fanciful.

I cannot remember what season it was, although I know it was a Championship game. We won at Leicester with a very late goal - and snatched the three points. Leicester were not at the King Pow yet, nor Filbert Street - so again, memory is hazy. Only time I've ever personally seen us beat them away from home live. Cracking atmosphere that day too.

90th minute, Sarr falls easily in the box and gets a penalty. He shoots feebly only for it to come back off of Schmeichel, Sarr misses again and the ball is cleared by Evans. Then it's picked up on the wing by Albrighton to knocks it on for Ndidi to cross it towards the far post, and headed into the centre of the box by Soumare into the path of Vardy, who smashes it into the net for a Leicester victory.

Not sure it's possible for it to be anymore "watfordy" than that. :)

Yes! That was it! Thanks, I really could not remember the date or scorer but the shirt is an instant reminder. Webber - remember him fondly, good player and linked up well with Sordell back in the day. Along side Danny Graham.

Eh? Webber left in 2005, over four years before Danny Graham arrived and when Marvin Sordell was 14. Helguson was Webber's most successful partner.

Your dystopian universe where this happens is even worse than our current one, that REALLY takes some doing, well done

That's far too fanciful to actually happen, of course.

You just forgot to include Leicester's late emergency signing of the ageing Jonathan Hogg who has come on in the 97th minute to replace a labouring Vardy and has allowed Soumare to drop back. Hence it's Hogg's return header back to the fast breaking Leicester midfielder. As the commentator memorably shouts...

"...here's Hogg....NDEEEDEEE...do not scratch your eyes you are really seeing THE most extraordinary finish..."

What, Sarr missing a penalty? I'd say it was probable.

    Is it Sunday yet?

Feels weird to be looking forward to a game...
  24. Another of these Pozzo investments who we farm out on loan and will never see play for us. Probably won't even get a fee for him at the end of his contract.

Well our last 5 games away to Leicester read LLLLL.

Oddly the last game we didn't lose there was in 2014, a 2-2 draw I don't remember at all in the season where they absolutely cained the Champo and we were awful. They were 32 points ahead of us going into the game and needed a 94th minute equaliser from Drinkwater to salvage a point; we had been 2-0 up at one point.

I do not remember this happening at all. Does anyone else ever feel like they have joined this timeline from a parallel timeline at some point in the last 5 years when it comes to remembering football matches?

I feel the reason we never win there (besides them having better players) is the last time we DID win Chalobah scored maybe the best goal in the history of football and used up all our credit for centuries to come.

    Vardy (pen 23, pen 65, sent off 85): Dennis (88, 90+1), Joao Pedro (90+11), Foster (90+15)

    I ******* love this guy.

If he carries like this for the rest of the season (in terms of goals/assists) he’ll be worth more than Sarr, purely because his work rate and successful pressing perfectly suits the modern tactical trend of “gegen press” which Sarr falls short .

At a purchase of 3-4 million he would wipe out the unsuccessful purchases of Gray, Oulare , Success and Sinclair all in one go .

If Liverpool were/are genuinely interested in Sarr , Dennis looks far better suited to their style of play.

Obviously Sarr is a good player, and did bits for us even before that famous Liverpool game, but I wonder if his reputation mainly comes off the back of that one game? Dennis, albeit with a smaller sample size, definitely seems able to do everything Sarr does, but is more well-rounded and much less of a one-trick pony, we're lucky he was such a nutcase at his previous clubs!

Saw our front 3 on Saturday and thought he doesn’t fancy that.

Which , at the very least , we won’t have to witness him falling to the ground grabbing his head every time he comes in to our box for a corner .

Speaking of Dennis leaving, whilst checking how much we signed Ken Sema for (a cool reported £2mil) I was confronted with a fact that my brain had automatically eternal-sunshined immediately after learning in an effort to protect itself, which is that we gave him a new five-year contract mere months ago.
