Leeds Utd vs Watford Preview Where: Elland Road, Leeds When: Tuesday, 22 October. 19:45ko Is it on TV? Sky Sports + On Leeds Aside from being a city full of northerners, Leeds has some quite nice architecture: Leeds Kirkgate Market One of Europe's biggest indoor markets, Kirkgate has been a market since 1857. The architecture was designed by Joseph Paxton who also designed Crystal Palace in London. Away pubs: For those of us who enjoy a pre or post-match tipple, the Drysalters is an away friendly pub. Famous fans There are plenty of famous Leeds fans including: Former Radio 1 disc jockey and loudmouth Chris Moyles Rock me Amadeus one hit wonder maker Nick Faldo Lost actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Sawyer The Opposition One of the most common things about Leeds Utd amongst most football fans is that you've got to love to hate them, especially considering their delusions of grandeur. The fact that Leeds Utd haven't done anything noteworthy for over thirty years is somehow lost on their supporters. Despite this, they are considered one of the favourites to win the Championship this season despite selling over €150m worth of players in the Summer. Archie Gray and Rutter contributing around €85m of that total. Their manager, Daniel Farke is no stranger to this league having led Norwich City to two 1st place finishes. Farke has had a pretty busy sporting career, having won a number of Wimbledon men's titles. Daniel Farke winning the US Open His preferred formation is 4-2-3-1 high press. Rodon and Struijk are the centre back pairing, with Firpo and Bogle (sounds like a comedy double-act) operating as full backs. The midfield duo is Tanaka and former Blackburn player Joe Rothwell. Leeds attacking trio consist of Largie Ramazani, Gnonto and Brandon Aaronson, with Joel Piroe up top. Meslier is Leeds 'keeper who is highly rated but is prone to the odd gaffe as he did against Sunderland. Branden Aaronson There were some reports of dressing room unrest at Elland Road at the start of the season, mainly owing to fan unrest at another playoff bottle job. Leeds injury news (at time of writing): Leeds have a few long-term injuries; Iliya Gruev (knee) Ethan Ampadu (knee) and Maximilian Wober (guess what? Knee) are all long-term crocks. Watford view Cleverley and Co cannot seem to find that winning formula away from home and I cannot imagine Leeds being particularly generous in their own backyard. I'd suggest we go with a 5-3-2 formation to try and nullify Leeds attacking threat and attempt to hit them on the break. Daniel Jebbison would be a better option as striker, as he has some pace in comparison to Bayo. We will also need our wingbacks to get forward to support attacks. If we inevitably happen to be chasing the game, we could bring on Baah and/or Vata to provide some youthful vigour to the attack. Watford injury news (at time of writing) Kevin Keben (knee) and Francisco Sierralta Hate to say it but I cannot see past a Leeds win: Prediction: Leeds 2-0 Watford
This will be a battering to bring us back down to earth after we beat the knuckle draggers up the road on Saturday.
Leeds 17-0 Watford Tough day for the Hornets, pretty much confirming our relegation to League One. 'ORNETS!
Great preview. On the back of a hard fought win at the doghouse, I think we’ll lose this one 2-1, with a particularly insipid first half.
Also, I don’t know how to feel about the brutish looking Farke. He’s probably a gentle giant, but I do think he should tidy himself up a bit. Especially if he wants to be taken seriously as a Premier League manager next season.
Can't remember being more certain we will lose a match. Three days after a bigger game, probably have to rotate, won't be able to find the energy and it's already the toughest game in the league.
Living amongst Leeds fans is bad. It’s worse when we (almost inevitably) lose at Elland Road, but it’s fantastic when they make a mess of promotion.
Although bet the 1-6 win and coming from 2-0 down to 3-2 up was nice.. They weren't very good I guess. And there is always Cardiff 2006. Saw highlights a few months ago and you can tell how gutted the "neutral" commentators were about that day and even the after match stuff pretty much dismissed us basically as lucky and just getting in the way.
Can’t see beyond a regulation 0-4 away win here . I’d imagine theyre still reeling from the 6-1 away thumping when Colin was there manager .
We actually did very well against them at the Vic under Clevs last season, but away from home we did well to hold out as long as we did before the floodgates openned. Our away form is still a concern, but if we do well in the derby it could push confidence that we will do well here, or not have brown shorts! A draw would be excellent, but a defeat is more than likely.
Find it very difficult to even think about this game when the one before it is some what more important. I would take defeat here if it meant we won Saturday
Leeds currently aren't as good as they were when we played there last season, and we're currently better. We'll still lose, but I don't think it'll be quite as one-sided as our last visit to Elland Road.
5-0 to Leeds. Absolutely no chance we can get something from this I would be less surprised if I win the next euro my millions. Leeds fans will shout at them and sing a few songs, and our players will **** themselves because they are gutless p****s with no backbone. Bayo will probably start up front and touch the ball about twice all game; Jebbison will come on after 65 minutes and play like an under 12's player.
If TC doesn’t demand and get a reaction after Saturdays debacle, the pressure will be ratched right up for Blackburn. Can’t see it, he’s too reliant on favourites and won’t mix it up with changes in team and tactics. We want you to succeed TC, ffs ring the changes for a fighting performance as a bare minimum. 3-1
TC is too nice. He won’t “demand” anything but if you’re lucky he might ask very politely if the players wouldn’t mind at least trying a little bit harder.
Bayo might only touch the ball twice, but at least that means he can only give the ball away twice. He will also still be on hand to contribute all the good stuff for the team that only TC is smart enough to see.
Ogbonna supposedly out for a while according to people on Twitter (read that as he's as he will be starting tomorrow)
Probably traumatized after seeing what happened or didn't happen around him. Or if I were a cynic I would say that's convenient. Stay undercover until the heat is off. Amazing the number of players who retire in tennis when they're losing a match, especially one they should win. We have a lad at the club, father's a nightmare. The boy clutches his elbow when he misses a shot if his father is watching. If the father isn't and he misses,he doesn't.
Would be so Watfordy to go and win this one! Leeds 8-0 Watford Bayo to take to the pitch in an ostrich riding costume, like Bernie Clifton.
