We had all summer to sign a left footed CB and chose this guy, fresh from missing the whole of pre-season through injury. Classic Pozzo.
Now that we mainly play with a back 4, do we desperately need a left-footed CB? He's possibly the pick of the bunch when he's fit, but even with Kabasele now injured, CB is probably the area of least concern now
Might as well end this loan, not worth the risk of waiting for him to come back and more than likely get injured again. Frees up a spot and we have a good recruitment team now to find a replacement.
Point taken. For instance though Birmingham have sent an injured player back to Norwich. So it's annoying if we can't.
Seems Hause wants surgery on his knee but no one else is in favour: https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...-reason-solution-watford-injuries-says-bilic/ So as a result we appear to have been stuck in some sort of limbo with him unavailable for selection but equally not following the medical advice given. How the fark does that work? Send the dud back to Villa ASAP.
Obviously sending him back to Villa would be the ideal situation, but I wonder if Villa have grounds to refuse? They probably know he's a crock (he had surgery in the summer!), but if we're not willing to countenance that, surely they can turn around and say that he's fine? I don't know the regulations surrounding returning loan players
If Villa were smart they would have ensured there’s no recall. They just wanted to mug off a club for the season, as they knew all about Hause’s issues, and Watford duly obliged. I just hope the new “professionals” in the building overpower the “amateurs” to make Watford a serious club once more.
As he's not our player we can't sanction surgery I guess, if he thinks he needs surgery then it should be referred to Villa to make an assessment and decision, I think loan players can be returned if they physically can't play for a significant proportion of the remainder of the loan.
I think if Villa were smart they’d negotiate with us to terminate the loan, with us paying a proportion of the wages, and get Hause the surgery to resolve his chronic knee issue which makes him a much more valuable asset to them. No one is winning from the current situation.
The club clearly know it's a massive fark up. What amazes me is that they haven't just taken the loss and sent him back? There's clearly no benefit to keeping a player that is too worried about his own fitness to play a game
How on earth does he need more surgery? The idiots in charge have signed a crock and we're stuck with him. Villa don't want him back so can simply say if you want to use him this season then give him the surgery he wants. I dread to think how much we're paying him, I think the only way they'll take him back is if we give them Sarr for about £20m.
According to The Athletic Watford are in talks about terminating the Hause loan and are looking to sign another left-sided CB. Adam Leventhal @AdamLeventhal #Transfers news: re Kortney Hause. Loan deal for #AVFC CB at #WatfordFC likely to be terminated early & Champ club will aim to sign LCB replacement. Hause (knee) due to return to Villa & still 6 wks from return. Discussions ongoing.
If we'd recruited properly in the summer then we wouldn't need to revisit the same issue 6 months later. The same goes for right back, midfield and up front.
Doesn’t exactly sound promising. “The hope is they’re now hoping to bring in a replacement”. ‘We’ve got our fingers crossed that the recruitment team have their fingers crossed for a great player to land in their laps’.
I think it's terrible copy editing as per from the Athletic, tbf, rather than a purposeful statement.
Whole thing is weird. Irrespective of agreement him just rotting here refusing to play is no good for player, Watford or Villa. Surely the three parties can come to an agreement. If Hause is that desperate for surgery can’t he get it done under his own insurance/funding presuming there is a doctor out there who agrees with his self diagnosis. All bizarre.
