What may have made more sense would be to have signed Tikvic on a permanent as well from Udinese and loan him out? His loan spell here is going to be totally pointless by the sounds of it and how it's shaping up. Surely he's on loan here to get minutes? Otherwise it's a complete waste of his time and ours.
Cleverley has got the centre back he wanted, he can't have any complaints now. Fully backed by the club, he needs to deliver results.
Give him the striker he wants as well and then I would say fair enough. Step in the right direction though.
I think the reasoning is that if one is out (like now, Hoedt’s injured) you have no backup center back on the bench. He even said that it’s a «big ask» for James Clarridge to step up and become backup for the three remaining center backs, which suggests that Clarridge is actually ahead of Tikvic in the pecking order.
There is limited experience, and then there is what Tikvic has had. Dropping him into the Championship like that is a recipe for disaster, especially alongside the respective 'experienced' centre backs we can currently boast outside Hoedt. Not to mention the fact that most of them are either incredibly injury-prone, or incredibly ban-prone. If you are committed to playing three at the back, you have to have adequate options to cover not just rotation and readiness, but also injury and ill-discipline, or you're just risking ceding games from the whistle. Obv, that's with good practice and intelligent recruitment, so you can potentially disregard it all in this situation.
This really. He obviously doesn't want to be relying regularly on the youngsters at CB, RP will pick up 5 yellows in his first 7 games so be suspended, 10 in 14 and 2 games, an injury alongside that and we are into the Clarridges, Tikvics etc..... Two injuries and a suspension and they are starting and on the bench.
It is probably just to add a massive loan fee to our £19m debt to Udinese can't see how else it could be being accrued!
Sure it said earlier that we was eligible to go straight into the squad this weekend, yet the 'fishal site now says he will be available for the Stoke game?
Just going by all the media reports, really. Of course it could just be lazy journalism since he fits the bill perfectly for something we've been wanting for ages - experienced left-footed Championship center back.
Apparently we just signed this guy yesterday. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/clyl3w784yvo You heard it here first. #BreakingKaykyNews
Cleverley saying in his press conference that he's a long-term project who is unlikely to feature for a while.
Crap against Sheff Utd U21s and hauled off at half time today against Crewe. Looks a long way off being first team ready.
We now have Baah refusing to play for us, and Almeida refusing to stop playing for us and needing to be hauled off the pitch. Out of control.
Anyone know what is going on with this guy? Appears to be miles away from the first team, having not even played for the u21s for the last month. The 21s have bought in another left sided CB 19 year old (Ian Kamga) who seems to have leap frogged kayky and be playing every game. Is kayky injured or something? Just seeems really odd to give him a first team squad shirt if not.
Defender Kayky Almeida is back at Fluminense. After being sold to Watford in England, the player did not adapt and is making his way back home. The transfer will be permanent and free of charge, with Fluminense keeping 50% of the player. In August last year, the English team paid € 1 million, just over R$ 6 million to sign the youngster. The athlete's representatives contacted Fluminense to request his return, believing that the tricolor is the best place for Kayky to return to his career. Important: initially he will return to Xerém and will play in the under-20s. If he performs well, he will have another chance to move up to the professional team. This is the player revealed in Xerém and who is returning, as my friend@VilellaT said yesterday. Taken from Twitter.
So we signed him for £1m, he played a few games for our U21s, and now we are letting him go for free? We are an embarrassment of a football club if that's true.
This is very very funny/incredibly poor husbandry. Louorns believes we will actually have paid around 200,000 currency units at this point, which is not as bad as a fuccking million, but insane given the way it has gone down, added to the fact that we haven't made a bloody signing this window and made a raft of pretty terrible ones alongside Kayky at the time.
Yea was told it was £200k for the duration of his contract. But even still, £200k could be put to wages of a loan that we could’ve used. It’s not like he was standing out in their age groups to begin with
