Looks totally different from what I remember him to look like, but good to see him in a Watford kit and all smiles.

Just hope he gets the opportunity to play in a central role. If so we've picked up a very good player.

Not being confrontational, I promise I am just interested.

Given a slightly more generous than we probably have financial envelope which strikers should the team have been buying?

    It seems we cant win.
Established Premiership strikers are few and far between and will be expensive and hard to get in terms of the pull of the club and wages.
Is there anyone, this window, we could all agree we could be looking at even slightly realistically? We aren't getting Kane are we.

I don't think it is, Deeney did score 13 goals in the Premier League in 2015 but has had operations to his knee, he is getting older and has been on the decline for some time. Gray has never been able to score goals at Premier league level his best ever goall tally for a prem season is 7 and his other seasons as a premier league striker he scored 5, and 2 goals in the league campaign.

The 15/16 season, as good as he was overall, he still only scored 7 non penalty goals. His highest ever is 8

King is nowhere near two metres - he's listed as 180cm/5'11'' on the official Premier League site, and the eye test alone tells you he's absolutely nowhere near 6'6''.

  11. HeiaWatford

    He's 6-2.

That's the other height that's going around on some sites like transfermarkt, but they cite sources like 'worldfootball.net'.

Again, the official Prem site has him listed as 180cm, and just stating 'he's 6'2''' without any further proof or source of your own doesn't go a great way to rebutting it.

It's even possible that those other height claims are actually correct, but even if they are, 6'2'' is nowhere near 6'6'', contextually-speaking.

I seem to recall Shay Given was listed basically anywhere between 5'10 and 6'2, so I tend to take height figures with a pinch of salt!

Yes, from what I have read from Bournemouth fans is that he is much better centrally although Howe kept playing him out wide.

Yes his best scoring season is when he played through the middle when Wilson was out injured. Plus he's stated that's his preferred position.

Once when visiting New York I actually bumped into Josh King on the viewing gallery at the top of the Empire State Building. As he was a Bournemouth player at the time I found myself locked in a long, cold, confrontational stare-off with the Norwegian forward. Our eyes were at approximately the same level and I'm 6 ft 3.

Then to my shock I realised that King was actually not standing on the observation deck but on the street outside.

This places his height at approximately 1,056 ft 3 by my calculations.

Is there a highlights video of this **** for me to watch so I can get excited about the prospect of him transforming our attack? Preferably something from 2015/16 or something, which is out of date, but inspires the most futile hope.

Sadly "no", but rest assured he was on Man Utd's books so he should be as good as Fletch. Football's coming home.
