I dunno, there are only so many slots up for grabs as a keeper, so he's done well enough for himself to have a solid journeyman career
Be interesting to see how he does in the League Cup game, at least we get to see him early. Okoye was an unknown quality and was terrible. Bond has a lot of experience and of course been here before.
Well, I think I'm being proven wrong about some of my predictions about Bond's ability. If both goalkeepers are in form and all things being equal, I still think Bachmann shades it but it's a closer contest than I predicted and you would say Bond would quite rightly find it very harsh to be dropped right now based on his performances thus far. He's not taken many crosses but his shot stopping has been strong and his parrying has been far better than I've seen at LA Galaxy. His kicking has not been great and thought today was a good example of that, though Bachmann is no ball playing keeper either.
True, but I think we can all agree that Bachmann is better at Kung Fu kicks than Bond. Ask the Huddersfield players.
I don’t think he really excelled in any of his games so far and today I feel people are possibly jumping on one decent double save to laud him. He looks very average to me. A good backup, nothing more.
Clevs has described Bachmann as "the best goalkeeper in the division" so I'd imagine he'll return after the internationals.
Jeez, he's not even close to being the best in the division!! I agree that Bond has earned his place and should continue in goal until he hits a bad patch or gets injured.
A double save thanks in no small to his weird decision to parry the ball into a dangerous area. He’s done well to make the second save, but he probably shouldn’t have had to make it.
His habit of parrying the ball into danger areas, rather than away, was one of the issues highlighted from his time in the US when we signed him. He’s just about adequate as a back up but we ain’t seen nothin’ yet to suggest he’s good enough to keep the shirt when Bachmann is back, man.
Bachmann isn't all that, a costly error is never too far away with him. Has to be a better goalie or two than him in the division.
Must be. Don't see Bachmann staying as 2nd choice. Would have liked Selvik first choice, Bond 2nd and loan Roberts out but ensure he got gametime this time.
