Position: RB DOB: 07/09/2000 Four year contract. Plenty of potential to develop into a first rate right back.Welcome to Watford and hopefully back playing in the PL next season. https://totalfootballanalysis.com/p...201920-scout-report-tactical-analysis-tactics
“I’m over the moon to be here at a great club like Watford.” “I like the way the club is run, because there are a lot of young talents that are starting to come to Watford, like Domingos Quina and Tom Dele-Bashiru.” I got the impression he thought we were still in the Premier League too. I hope no one tells him the truth.
Tbf even if he had stayed at spam at his age he would normally be looking to go somewhere on loan for a season or two, so there’s no real negative for him
Daily Telegraph reporter Mike McGrath has said Ngakia's contract includes a 1 year option on top of the initial 4 years the opening post correctly stated. https://twitter.com/mcgrathmike/status/1294662409173569541?s=20
Of course it goes against the current narrative that he’s useless, the devil in human form and the person at the club responsible for all our woes etc, but Ngakia will go down as the last signing made by our now former Technical Director. And most of us seem quite pleased with this one. Who knows, if next season the likes of Ngakia, Sarr, Deulofeu, Pedro, Quina, Welbeck , Dele-Bashiru, Suarez and more established players he helped sign such as Foster, Cleverley and Chalobah have good seasons, maybe history will remember him slightly more favourably. Still doesn’t excuse not signing better defenders last summer though or the expensive failures such as AG. But a bit of balance is never a bad thing.
Mightily impressive performance. A sloppy pass up the line straight out of play but the throughball to Dom was perfection. Can only see him getting better.
If I am honest I wasn't convinced about him starting at right back but I was really impressed by him yesterday.
Very comfortable on the ball. Should thrive under Ivic and his direction of playing out from the back. Unlike the last couple of seasons when the back line have treated the ball as the enemy. Wilmot is another and Estupinan was a class above. All bodes well for retaining possession which Ivic likes. Either by pressing it back or just keeping hold of it.
I was genuinely amazed by how well he played. You can see why he forced his way into the West Ham first team. I'm surprised he joined us because he appears good enough for the prem.
He’s got his head screwed on and whoever is advising him is doing it well, what he needs is games and this year he will get them. Had he stayed at Spam they may have loaned him out to a championship club anyway for a year.
JN has got to be starting again. He is so much better defensively than Kiko and surely will only improve offensively. Another goal conceded yesterday from the right wasn't surprising neither was Kiko MIA. We have Sarr on the right so don't need Kiko overcommitting and leaving gaping holes for the opposition to exploit and dragging Wilmot,Cathcart and WTE out of position. If Ivic insists on playing Kiko put him on the left with King Ken further up because at least we will know King Ken will cover.
Exactly my thoughts a 433: - Foster Ngakia; Kabaselle; Ekong; Kiko Hughes; Capoue; Sema Sarr Perica Pedro
Ngakia wasn't a WB when we signed him and clearly Ivic doesn't rate him as one. If we play three at the back, which we are likely to permanently (despite the Masina hype), he'll hardly start if Kiko is fit.
Definitely more of a defensive full-back rather than a marauding wing-back, but he's been fine there when he has played. I would obviously love to see him play more though in fairness Kiko has done pretty well and it's definitely not one of our bigger issues right now
He really, really hasn't. He's put a couple of decent crosses in (literally a couple) whilst continuing to be useless at the back and at fault for goals. People are desperate to give him a pass. Has always been s**t, little has changed in the Championship. Ngakia is a much better defender, stronger, at least as quick and actually goes past people pretty well on the occasions he tries. He's a very competent technical footballer and I think he could quite easily become a very good, complete wing back - he certainly has a far higher ceiling and much, much more time to develop than Femenia. Stunting his developing in favour of f**king Femenia is insanity, but completely unsurprising.
Spot on really. God knows how many times he was put in against Rangers and I cant remember one telling cross. A weakness all around who is interfering with Ngakias development. Femenia and Capoue are really ******* me off with their carefree attitudes
Looks like another player who joins the club as a young, exciting talent and begins with a few good performances and then it's all downhill from there. Incredibly reliant on his right foot so we shove him into a LB position and also 'coach' any attacking ability out of his game with our dull, depressing style of football under Ivic and Xisco.
Cramp in the 70th minute. Like he’s a competition winner picked for the first time or something. Embarrassing.
