On the face of it, this is pretty crappy behaviour from us, not paying money that was owed to two teams in Senegal that would've made a huge difference to their future. Just add it to the list I suppose.
Yes it does if we haven’t paid up as asked too but should Metz be paying these clubs rather than us as they brought Sarr from Senegal ?
Doesn't sound like it, Duxbury's quotes make it clear that we owe the money but that we just hadn't got round to paying it as we "didn't have the right bank details".
Grim stuff. Lots of good things off the pitch from the club but the odd bits we hear about our transfer dealings are very shady.
I thought he'd just forgotten the club's online banking password so couldn't make the funds transfer.
Expect Sarr’s injury to be serious, mirroring the victorious battle against Liverpool that cost us the war, thanks to Geri’s injury.
He walked off normally didn't he? Not a sign that he isn't injured at all, but surely it can't be a serious serious injury?
Walked off and was subsequently helped down the tunnel by two others. They had called a stretcher too so assume it wasn’t great.
Interesting celebration yesterday, to be fair, I also wouldn't have given it the big 'un if I'd missed two penalties!
I think it was as much relief at making up for his penalty misses as anything else. It looked to me as if he was looking for a reaction of forgiveness from the fans, strikes me he cares more than most players do about what we think of him. We need to get behind him to help build his confidence back up, even if he makes mistakes and wrong decisions. He is young, and I'm still convinced that there is an excellent player there in the making
Clearly a bit low on confidence and didn’t look like he even wanted to take the penalties yesterday ( so I was surprised he did) . I think the confidence issue affects his decision making as well, which hasn’t been Great lately. Hopefully the goal will have given him a boost. We need to stick with him though as he’s always a potential match winner.
Once again - a lot of people look at this forum on their phones. On the mobile version of this site, the posts are not numbered - so if you’re trying to get a bigger audience for your posts, you should try and find another way!
Yes, walked off, came back on and got a worse injury. I felt the Sarr approach reflected some learnings. Don't send a thoroughbred out on a weakened peg. Hopefully it's sorted in a week or so.
Sorry, you're not alone in this so I'm not singling you out at all, you've just literally spelled it out here so it's useful for the highlight - but this is getting a bit Lingard-esque, to be honest. He's really not that young - he's turning 24 in 3 months, and we are currently midway through his sixth senior season as a professional footballer - he's played 192 games in that time. I'm not saying he can't improve further, obviously, but he's over a year older than Cucho and almost four older than JP, for a start. We can't really just use his 'youth' as an excuse at this point - he's by no means a callow or inexperienced player at all, and he's even had an unexpected season down in the muck toughening him up and theoretically broadening the scope of his game yet wider - it's about his mentality, who he is as a person and a player, and what he and we need to actively do to get him to that elevated level now.
No No, you are quite right, but as a 70 year old everyone seems young to me, and I should have done my research before posting. I was thinking he was a bit younger than that.
Even on a computer, you have to do a fair amount of scrolling to find the post in question (as well as a bit of mental arithmetic to work out what page such post is on). The obvious other way is to provide a direct link to the post by right clicking on the post number and copying the link address, or better still, hyperlink it - as in "See my earlier post in the Man U thread here". You can also do this on a mobile phone - you get the URL of the post by pressing down on the time it was posted and tapping Copy (you’ll need to open the thread in a separate tab if you’re editing the link in) - for instance, see post #507.
Sorry guys I'm going to have to stick to my methods as my computer skills are not up to what you are suggesting, so if you are interested you will just have to search, but if you are not then c'est la vie
A week on and still no idea what’s wrong with him or have they just forgotten about him like Mariappa?
Either the medical team are clueless which is bad or the swelling still hasn't gone down which is also bad. Either way I think it's a bad situation.
So basically Senegal want us to rehabilitate him so they can fly him out straight away for the quarter finals? I'm sure the club are seething, and I presume they can't do a farking thing about it
Sarr is so lazy and overrated. Although since he got injured we have lost 5 out of 5. Coincidence I’m sure.
Yes, a great shame that double-figure winning streak we were on when he was fit came to an end, for sure.
