Prime example that being big, strong and fast doesn't automatically make someone good at football.

One of our worst ever players.

As Ian Drury said "What a Waste".
I'll always remember me wishing him good luck for the season a few years ago on Occupation Road and him looking vacantly at me!

This is a much debated topic - Is he better or worse than Jure Travener, Sietes, Adam Griffiths, Gareth Williams, Steve Leo Beleck (not the forum poster, i'm sure he's capable of kicking a ball), Fanchone.

Taking a different view, he ended his Watford career on a high. Possibly off the pitch as well.

Same, i visited in 2016 and watched them lose 2.1 to Gary Neville's Valencia. https://www.espn.co.uk/football/report/_/gameId/433735
Just looked up line up Dimitri Foulquier, Adalberto Peñaranda, Isaac Success starting and A. Doucouré on the bench...we already had Iggy and Nyom who featured on their hall of fame

Definitely not the worst, not even top 3 worst imo. Andre, Ellington, Vega

Their namesakes would have done a better job; Peter, Duke and Suzanne.

Worst is subjective, was he worst purely based on talent? No, not by a long way. Was he worst when you factor in transfer fee, potential and opportunity? He’s definitely up there.

Time to drop it Leigh-Anne, haven’t you got a QPR forum to bother?

Do you get an alert to your phone whenever someone disrespects Andre Gray?

Congrats on the twins, by the way.

Depends if you think at his prime for us, competing against a 20 million man in Deeney who was undroppable and competing against a 15 million man in Delefeo who was class made him the worst signing ever. Whereas you got 13.5 million of pretty much naff all from Success and other players mentioned in other posts from Watford's past who also did naff all and who were bad value in their day at a time when there were no Deeneys and Delefeos knocking about.

The 3 of them - Deeney Gray and Delefeo - under Gracia, was arguably the best season we had since GT. And they all contributed.

I was actually talking about Success Manat.

Gray had barely any upward potential when we bought him (not his fault Gino’s fault) hence why you have to consider Success in the worst ever conversation, and hence the mention of the word potential and opportunity in my post.

Oh. Apologies. When you replied with the LA name drop i thought you had joined the Gray-hate party.

Certainly worse than Gareth Williams, who was a decent player. Very harsh to include him in this list since his career was ended through no fault of his own.

Goodnight Sweet Prince. Great name, terrible player for a team looking to be in the EPL.

I can't believe I'm saying this but if it was a choice between keeping Success or Gray, I would keep Gray, but of course I would ideally not keep either of the useless sacks of ****.

Nothing wrong with saying it. I'd keep him over Deeney too if forced to choose.

Oh agreed - The list was mainly players who made little to no appearances for us regardless of their careers - could add many more such as Diakite/N'Dong etc. If Isaac only made his first 6 or so appearances for us I don't think people would be as negative - I recall at one point people were calling for him to be a shoe in starter, then he found Baileys.

Well, I think he could take a throw-in without falling over, at least. Mind you, that's about the only time he doesn't fall over!

So about £10m for 3 goals, at least one was a screamer.

Interesting that as far as I can see (only read the last page) no one has mentioned Jurado in terms of players getting an extended run of games, but objectively at least he has to be among the worst with 27 league starts and no goals or assists and we paid £6m for him. And there were other negative factors like his terrible shooting, erratic set pieces and reluctance to track back or tackle.

But he wasn't all that bad and he was good enough for keeping possession and managing the game. I daresay if we'd had a player like Jurado in 2006/07 in his correct position we wouldn't have hoofed the ball so much and would have held onto the ball for more than a couple of passes and might have scraped a few more points, albeit not necessarily enough to keep us up.
