It was a strange choice putting him in before Gray especially as it was against his former club. Obviously Xisco sees nothing in Gray at all! Come to think of it where's Perica?
I think the idea behind putting on Success was sound, an outball to avoid having to play it on the bobbly pitch, and to be fair, it's something he's done fairly well in recent games without ever looking like scoring, it's just he had a mare yesterday. Gray's main strengths involve stretching the defence with his pace, so not really what we needed until it got desperate I suppose, and it oh so nearly worked perfectly for us
I can't stand Gray, but he at least puts effort in and scores the occasional goal despite being a truly woeful footballer.
Success was probably brought to be Deeney’s replacement all those years ago.. Still waiting .. He spend more time falling over and catching the ire of opposition players and warth of officials than anything else.
It’s his mindset that is the problem. That’s why Chalobah is getting back to his best, he wants it. Success doesn’t give 2 poopoos whether he plays or not. He’s far more interested in modeling his clothes on Instagram nearly everyday, and reposting anything nice said about him. There is zero drive, desire or passion in his game. He doesn’t want it. You see that when he comes on. The effort just isn’t there. If there was a poster of me in our biggest rivals stadium, using my name to mock the success of the club I play for, I would make sure I do all I can to win. That didn’t even motivate him! If that didn’t, then nothing will. He will be playing Serie B football in a couple of years and go the way of Balotelli. Just way less successful.
Complete and utter dog dirt yesterday, which is just a copy and paste from his previous performances for the last 4 or 5 years. When he's not throwing himself to the ground he'll either miscontrol the ball or actually manage to control it and then make the wrong choice. He's 25 now. TWENTY-FIVE. The 'potential' ship sailed years ago. He's just another Andre Gray in the making, without the goals Andre has managed to somehow score.
Spot on. There are a number of people who mock those who ask for passion, desire and workmate from players because ‘the game has moved on’. Of course you need more than a will to succeed but if you don’t have that then you won’t get anywhere regardless of your quality. He’s more interested in girls and money and isn’t fussed with hard work.
I hope not. Absolute rubbish player. Just have to hope that his performance today is good enough to pull the wool over some clubs eyes and they sign him or take him on loan.
Issac has only played about 350 minutes this season and has been out for a year. I am not saying he is the answer but any player need out that long needs 10 plus games before they get back to anywhere near their best. He is better off getting a loan out somewhere but I wouldn’t be surprised If he did ok if he gets to play regularly.
The trouble is that goal was the very best thing he has ever done since being at the club, and quite frankly as good as that goal was he needs to be just a tad more consistent than that
Great goal - sadly a genuine Swan song to his Vicarage road career. 19 goals in seven years - not sure we will be able to hold on to him.
There is a player there, if he can finally knuckle down. Obviously we can't pin our Premier League hopes on him finally coming good on a regular basis, but I hope today's performance at least made some potential suitors step up and take notice
Sorry Isaac, swinging at one and getting lucky with the connection won't make me forget another diabolical performance. Pack your bags mate, a move to Turkey is on the horizon.
The goal is good for him and us. Hopefully clubs will think ohhhh he's been out injured but look what he's capable of thus taking a chance. The effort at Brentford when he took it on his chest and hit the bar was good but we have to have much better now. No doubt clubs will be looking at him over the Summer.
Rumours we might send this loveable waster to Udinese on loan. Another great example of intra-Pozzo dealings. Buy him from Granada for £13m with Watford money, tie him down to a long contract after two good games, loan him to Udinese for nothing.
Gray had his best spell for us under Gracia alongside Deeney and Delefeo. Success has done very little in comparison.
Gray has been the most expensive, embarrassing, catastrophically awful signing in the club's history. A deal which the club are still hamstrung by a whole four years after he signed. Success is just absolute gash.
Success is worse because while Gray perhaps could have done better for us, he was always limited, whereas Success had the talent to do far more for us
He did?? He fell very quickly into the category of quick, powerful winger who had no brain whatsoever. He then bulked up so much we had to play him as a striker and we all know the end results of that experiment.
Success is by far worse than Gray. Yes, Gray cost £18m but if he was our regular starting striker and played when fit, he’d get a reasonable amount of goals. It wouldn’t be pretty, he’d look like an awful footballer while doing it and frustrate everyone, but he’d score some goals. He also at least tries. Success is a lazy useless turd who in the same circumstances would contribute precisely nothing.
If we paid 13 odd million for Success and 18m for Gray, than as much as I hate to say it, pound for pound, Success is an even worse signing. Of course we got that money for success straight back to spend again because of the unique Pozzo Model and the self sustaining economy we've got going on.
Indeed. Just like the Pussetto and Peneranda money is all good to go. Cheeky £30 million for that trio of goodness.
