Iconic Tune From Your Childhood

They used to play this at Filbert Street before the players came out. Not a good song but evocative. They’d also play Let Me Entertain You by Robbie Williams, which seems like a pisstake now seeing as of Ade Akinbiyi and Andy Impey would trot out onto the pitch.

First video game I had, be about 6 or 7. Good times.

The first Strokes album came out when I was about 9 or 10 and I remember my dad playing it to death on a family holiday in Cornwall. When I hear this song I’m transported back to the smell of chicken **** from the farm next to where we camped.

The 90s electronic/big beat bands like Massive Attack, Faithless, Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim were probably my most repeated artists in my single digit ages.

The first World Cup I can remember. Long warm summer days under the trees, zephyrs of cooling breeze and plenty of bottles of lemonade all before the anticipation of the big event. I can still remember that goal and my stunned disbelief even as a child to what I had witnessed while father cursed a little to vehemently for my mothers liking. It was this tournament and the way Argentina and particularly Maradona moved the ball that made me fall in love with the blue and white stripes.

Sorry @SkylaRose don't you mean from the Natwest advert?! ;)

Maybe we should have an iconic advert thread too...

Here's the original music video by Lisa Lougheed. A few bits of cool Racoon's footage in it, a bit different.

Bit before my time, but I do remember watching what must be repeats of this a lot when I was a kid. This and Button Moon. Might be pushing it when I say this is iconic though...

You can’t then not put on the Banana Splits. I’m going with the original though the version by the Dic.kies is tremendous.

I've always liked this - it was once voted as TV's sexiest theme tune:

In my defence Valerie Singleton moved from Blue Peter to the Money Programme. Much the same reason I asked to stay up late to watch Obi Wan-Kenobi in the Star Wars spin-off Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.

Oh and the magical (both theme tune and programme content*):

*Any show that could do an investigation proving recent archaeological finds were that of Philip of Macedonia to following two teams in hover-crafts going up some Himalayan River to exploring the 'theories' of Erich von Daeniken.

Getting back from Wembley Market (I still don't know why we went there every ******* week) nto switch on the TV to get that. Cracking tune though.

Roobarb and Custard had the strangest Intro and animation I have ever seen. I do not know why they chose to use the jumpy effect on the animation, it did my eyes in. Good show though.

I used to love Chorlton and the Wheelies. So much acid must have gone into making it.
