...who then have a player sent off after 15 minutes , Bayo forgot to bring his gloves , Bachmann gets dazzled by the floodlights and flaps about , Porteous sh ithousery is punished , 2-0 Hull. We go again .
Huge game, a loss here pretty much ends any dreams of finishing in the play-offs and we can all stop watching until August 2025. Hull 1-4 Watford Tough evening for the shoutbox/crib sprinklers.
Unfortunately, as Hull play in a sort of yellowy orange it'll be away kit, and we have won no points in away kit (I've doubtless missed a game, but our away points at Millwall, Wednesday and Plymouth have been in yellow.) On the same subject, why were Bristol C allowed to wear white with red shorts at VR?
Hull fans on Not606 (couldn't find another forum) are pining for Tufan to come back. Things must be desperate.
I’ve commented on this before. Years ago, before the days of multiple change strips, no colour clash was ever allowed. Not just for shirts, but also shorts or even socks. The away team would often just change the item that clashed. In the case of the Bristol City game, they would probably have worn their normal kit and just changed their socks to white ones. Minor clashes don’t seem to matter now.
Hull have scored just two goals in their last six games. I still do not fully trust our backine especially away from home as QPR breached it quite a few times last time out and that was at 'Fortress Vic'. I'll stick by my prediction and say we'll scrape it 1-0 but considering we haven't kept a clean sheet away from home all season, I am not entirely sure we will keep such a low scoring side out over 90+ minutes.
Selles will fire them up, guaranteed loss. Shame they couldn’t wait a few days to bring the new guy in!
Ring my friend, I said you'd call Doctor Watford Day or night, he'll be there any time at all Doctor Watford
We'll either scrape a scrappy 0-0 or hammer them (2-1) if we get an early goal. Q: Why doesn't Morris get more starts? Sierrialta is sometimes decent against ariel bombardment but he always looks like a 2 yellows per game player lately. I like Morris he's quicker..
Sierrialta is a good player but he's very up and down this season. It's concerning how we mainly play a back three with only really Pollock as a nailed on starter. I like Sierralta, but he can be a bit 'Porteous' at times and rash in the challeng or make a poor decision. Morris isn't any better but he does seem to have a calmer persona. Away at a struggling side who are under a new manager, we are going to have be cautious to not over-play. But then again, we are still relying on Bayo to convert chances, which probably means we'll set up to draw and try to hit them on the break.
This could also be Clev's "VI" moment when he keeps the team in the changing room at FT for an extra hour while he demands the reason for the utter dross on the pitch as we lose 1-0 QPR away style where we didn't even turn up under Bilic. Gave them their first win of the season.
We have had so many managers it’s probably hard to remember who was when but think we lost 1-0 to QPR under Wilder? It was their first win under Gareth Ainsworth I remember . We probably did lose to someone at the bottom under Bilic though.
Main problem we have no pace at the back. And less organisation with Ogbonna out, and he'd only got sort of going. I reckon we'll win mind, 1-2 to the Golden Boys.
It's been bugging me so I checked, yes it was Wilder. His first game in charge as well. Welcome to Watford Chris...
Selles seems a decent manager and done well at Reading given what a circus they are. He’ll improve Hull and I think they will be feeling much more positive with a new manager. A point wouldn’t be a bad result here.
On the topic of new managers, here’s a quick quiz question! Over the last few recent seasons we had the strange coincidence of giving a manager both his first permanent victory in charge but also his last ever defeat too. Who? The word permanent is key btw, as he’d had a spell as caretaker first.
