Pretty much spot on although think it’s the relative who is getting one .

Some might say poor guy !

Who makes these decisions- the top hierarchy or stadium management ?

Either way very shoddy treatment of the guys .

I presume there was some sort of health and safety aspect the club were trying to point to ?

Slightly bizzare answer, but it was bought as a gift for her, she read it then gave it back to me because my sister said the story or illustations scared her. I was meaning to throw it out but kept it as it might be worth something one day. :)

People keep going on about Okoye being a waste of money and he might well be at this stage. I was expecting him to start last season as Fosters replacement and you may recall that Bachman almost went to Man Utd.

When he joined he had offers from a number of premier clubs and in Europe. What I have seen hasn't been brilliant but like many he needs regular first team football.
I remember a number of players written off in their early days with the club. Ross Jenkins springs to mind, he didnt do too bad.

Recruiting players isn't an exact science, many seem to fail at one club and then do well elsewhere. Steven Berghuis was a waste of space at Watford in 2015/16 I think he played about 9 games and has starrred this season for Ajax in the European cup and has 45 caps for Netherlands.

I hope he gets a chance witth us or a move away. Perhaps its not just Gino that we need to give a break to

Very true some come better eventually and he might be one of those but 3 managers have chosen others over him so it’s not a good sign for the guy .

Maybe he is another victim of the constant change in management by the owner and others which means they don’t get time to assess players fully and they just go with the status quo?

I suspect they hardly get time to really judge the keepers or other squad players properly as it’s win or bust from the off .

Either way it’s not a great use of 6 million pounds - as you say he ought to be first choice for that money by now particularly as the current number one is pretty average himself .

It would be like spending 5 million on a striker and sending him out on loan a few months later ..

Certainly not going to get anywhere with our current level of vitriol, not just on this forum, some of the darker stuff is nasty

I'd say working with agents under serious legal investigation, stopping people helping the disabled, running the club into over 100 million in debt with loans against the stadium, kicking out fans for having a differing opinion and sacking the manager who was meant to be our future 11 games in who then went to promote our rivals, all whilst preferring to take fines over doing fans forums that were promised is slightly deserving of criticism. But hey we lost to gillingham 60 years ago so be careful what you wish for!

What have you read that is so nasty particularly?

Haven’t read anything personally insulting or abusive on here .

    Maybe elsewhere?

The stick players get is much worse and stronger .

If it’s so bad why not come out and say so or refuse to attend the fans forum ?

I doubt the bloke particularly cares either way tbh .

He can ask the guys at Everton , Man U, Leeds and West Ham what real abuse and threats are like .

Or Mike Ashley when he was at Newcastle.

I totally accept that everyone including me is allowed an opinion. Sometimes you have to challenge those opinions and that is fine. Nothing wrong with a good debate.

I dont for one minute think that everything Gino has done is perfect. I would like to think he has the best interests of the club at heart. I hope he also has his best interests as a businessman at heart and when those two collide it works well.

If you study successful business people most of them have had to duck and dive, do what it takes sometimes to survive. It doesn't mean they are bad etc

Probably Gino would have been well advised to communicate better and take the fans with him.

I still say if I was Gino I would be angry, we need to get the fans back onside.

Maybe the people who decide such things should have stuck with him then or seen he was only good enough up to a certain point - certainly not worth 5 million .

I have no doubt there are probably some rather unkind comments about him and others on Twitter etc as there is about everyone and everything.

Most of us fans have to suffer jokes and pee taking all the time even from non football fans thanks to the way the club is run .

It’s probably quite embarrassing and sad for many to admit being a fan now .

That will hurt fans more than just being rubbish - because that can happen and it’s hardly the first time but we are known as a basket case and laughing stock now for a reason .

That is why people are angry generally- there is no pride in the club and feeling of warmth to it .

Absolutely everyone has a different opinion, and everyone is entitled to it. The difference is, multiple people, including financial experts who have studied our accounts in detail have given you irrefutable facts as to why your opinion is wrong (which you ignore) and have asked you various different questions regarding some of the claims you have made (which you ignore) which is what makes you a troll, so there is a clear difference between having an opinion and just being on a wind up.

By all means have a different opinion, but if you can’t back it up with any actual facts, and if you completely ignore all the facts given to you, then you need to be prepared to change that opinion. Otherwise you just, at best, come across like a flat earther, or trump supporter, but in reality I think in your case it’s far more simple, you’re just for some strange reason, looking for a rise from a fan base that is almost to a man/woman extremely angry at the owner and justifiably so. It’s either a very poor attempt at a windup, or maybe being kinder you’re just a bit dim, to try and go against the grain of popular opinion on here without any facts to back that opinion up, and ignoring any facts that come your way Is just a very transparent and very dull attempt at getting some attention. But hey, it’s worked, so well done and I hope you feel fulfilled at wasting everyone’s time for a few days.

In fact that reminds me, HB1 normally likes to go off the reservation and go on and end of season wind up, I’m willing to bet this is is you, or at least someone with far too much time on their hands and a very sad little life to lead.

I think everyone can agree on some facts :

    - We have a lot of debt
    - We change managers regularly hand over fist
    - There has been poor recruiting since 2019/20
    - Our squad is very average as last season proved
    - We are under investigation from the FA and pay agents far too much for a club our size.
    - Giving new long term contracts to employees who have failed in their job is a poor look
    - Club is poor at communicating with fans at the top level (I mean from the board room)
    - The club is a laughing stock in football right now

We can debate just how bad things are and who is to blame the most but that list above probably cannot be argued with .

    1. We have a lot of debt, but what we have is manageable and actually reduced last year.
    2. Yes we change managers it didnt look poor when we got promoregularly, none of us particularly like that. However some like Roy should have been sacked earlier (After Crysral Palace Celebrations)
    3. Recruitment. It is subjective and not a fact. Most pundits said we had the best squad in the division on paper. They just could not be motivated
4, Squad average again not a fact but they achieved a poor result given their skill level and wage level.
    5. I guess this is Gieratta again. I would have sacked him. He either knows where the bodies are buried otr ha makes good money on player trading. Role has changed
    6. Communications again not a fact but subjective but I do agree.
    7. Not really once you get away from Luton. Mostly watford fans. - Not a fact but subjective.

1 It is managable to the extent we can cover operating costs on a seasonal basis. Once that stops we are screwed and nobody knows how much patient the lenders have or how much expendable capital the company has. As soon as we start spending beyond our means and paying Sarr's outragous wage every week we might hit that limit pretty early next season if we don't go up. Besides, we have been outright lied to by Duxbury about how managable our debt is. Having to sell Kamara for 16M at the start of last season shows you what a load of cobblers that statement was.

    2. Inexcusable. Sacking a manager twice a season is a beyond a running joke. Get a manager, back him, stick with him as much as possible.

    3. It has been poor, but that is mainly down to going through "Del boy" and paying him massive cuts of the sales (which exceed the player's actual sale value). Manga/Costa have their work cut out now, and need to step up as much as possible because if we fail next season we are in trouble.

    4. More down to lazy players than talent. Sarr was exceptionally poor, as was Louza. Yes we had half a squad for a long time, but when we got our "first choice" players back, we never looked like challenging for a playoff place. Poor manager or not, player effort is lacking and has been for some time.

    5. Giving past it players goes hand in hand with point three.

    6. We all know this. Whether this fan forum changes that remains to be seen.

    7. We are a shell of the club we used to be. For fans of Watford, we have had nothing to be happy about for a long time. Laughing stock for us - don't care how other sides see us.

    Knight GT Predictor extraordinaire 2013/14

    1. Manageable debt? Really? What makes you say that. How do you suggest we reduce it down after this season
    2. I don't think anybody criticized them when making a change a year but the last 3 or 4 years has been ridiculous with a minimum of 3 managers a season
    3. It is not subjective, the recruitment last summer was completely laughable. Most pundits don't know anything about teams outside the top 6 in the Premier League
    4. How many of our players would get in to teams who finished in the top 6? Pedro, Sarr. Squad is average made worse by signing below average players or unfit players from Villa
    5. Papa Pozzo loves Gieratta. Not one we can blame Gino for
    6. You think at any point communication is any better than rubbish.
    7. We are not a laughing stock. People couldn't care less as we are not a Premier League team

The fact we have a squad full of players who, no matter how talented they ‘should be’ on paper, are clearly lacking in commitment and basic levels of effort, is of itself indicative of extremely poor recruitment.
There is obviously little, if not zero, attention paid to such important details as attitude and willingness to dig in and battle when necessary when we recruit players. The lack of due diligence is disgraceful.
I would venture that as commitment and attitude is as important as innate ability in a professional athlete, especially in the Championship, then the ‘fitness for purpose’ of our squad is proven to be ‘average’.
It is a fact we finished 11th in a 24 team division. It is a fact that being 11th out of 24 is to be defined as ‘average’. Yet our most recent serial poster claims it is not a fact. Just here to keep shouting that Gino is weally weally upset and all these nasty people should leave him alone. Whilst HOPING he has the best interests of WFC at heart; even he isn’t sure.
