Getting A Phone Message In A Pub

Back when I was living at home a mate rang the house phone, (long before mobiles), and asked where I was.
My Mum said she thought I was in the pub.
"Hair of the dog"? said my mate.
"No, the Kings Arms" said my Mum.

True story that's still brought up now and again.
