There are often bits of news and stories I want to post or discuss that don’t really warrant their own thread, but are worthy of a bit of discussion, so this is a place for just those such stories. First off: https://news.sky.com/story/amp/john...suit-against-former-wife-amber-heard-12609397
I'm glad that there's a high-profile case in favour of the male. Sure, it's a minority of cases but it most definitely happens and I can testify to that.
I feel it's impossible to say whether or not that's actually true. Domestic abuse on males is almost entirely unreported due to societal stigma, so it's impossible to know what reality actually is. Anecdotally, I know just as many male victims as female when it comes to intimate partner violence/abuse, but that's obviously not reliable enough to draw conclusions from.
A good chance Heard will 'win' on appeal. As @domthehornet says, they're both as bad as one another but two wrongs don't make a right and both of them being abusive to one another, in an abusive relationship, doesn't mean her saying she abused by Depp is defamatory.
Another tube strike on the 21st followed by a national rail strike across three days: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-61723515.amp Going to cause chaos for things like Glastonbury, thankfully I’m driving.
