Thought there was a thread for garden stuff but cant find it.

Previous owner of our house had a path made of railway sleeper blocks up the garden. About 15 of them. They've all rotten away and grass has covered it all but there are 15 holes where the wood has crumbled away. Proper ankle breaking holes.

What would be the best way to fill?

1 - Dig all up, level and returf. (Seems like too much effort and £)
2 - Fill on top with soil and re seed.
3 - Lift up, remove old bits of rotten wood and refill before putting back turf level.
    4 - Something I've not thought of.

The lawn is a bit lumpy in general but I'm ok with that.

    There is: Wildlife and Gardens.

    3. would probably give you the best long term result, I would say (assuming you are not going for 1). Personally I can never get grass seed to 'take'.

Concrete the whole garden, buy some pots, stick a greenhouse on it too, problem solved.

Defo option one, very labour intensive so would not cost too much unless you are paying someone for the labour. It will defo save you time in the long run.

If you like it how it is/was you can get artificial sleepers that look like sleepers to replace the rotten ones.
