Witcher 3 is my favourite game of all time! Are you enjoying it?

I am. I enjoy the storage and the cleavages of all the female characters. I do find the RPG elements a bit tedious. I don't enjoy enhancing my equipment or deciding which skill points to allocate for whatever, or having to create potions and stuff, but the storyline is good enough to make me power through that stuff and carry on.

I was a bit sad when I killed Keira Metz, even though she started it. I hadn't saved recently though so didn't want to go back and do the whole Pellar ceremony again just to choose a different outcome.

Yer first playthrough I chose that route, second time round she survived and ended up at Kaer Moorhen.

I found the potions element became quite useful and engaging. Its particularly important on the higher difficulties of it you do New Game +.

I don't care for higher difficulty, for that very reason. I want to be able to win fights with a sword. I don't wanna have to collect ingredients, mix them up and learn new recipes from torn out pages around the world. It's not my type of fun.

I also hate Gwent. I find it impossible to win, but don't enjoy it even when I do.

I also wish the game would let me attack people who shout anti-witcher things at me as I walk past. OK, they could then summon guards and I'd have to fight them too, but some of them have needed killing, but the game wouldn't let me.

haha I actually quite enjoyed gwent, but you really need a decent deck to have a fun time otherwise it’s insanely frustrating.

but that’s not the ethos of a Witcher moog!

Don't I get to decide what the ethos of the Witcher is in my game?

Is it badly dubbed like the 80s TV show?

Looks great, so I'll look forward to playing it in about 6 years when it's a fiver on Ebay.

No, it is the Witchers fate to be detested by the people despite Geralt being a really good egg.

I've helped a few peasants and harlots who were converted.

It’s in the Witcher’s code to help harlots particularly those with ample assets.

I banged two of them whilst Yennefer waited downstairs. She was such a moody cow. I preferred Keira and Triss. Wish I hadn't killed Keira.

Just finished it yesterday. Mixed feelings. It truly is a brilliant game and utterly absorbing, but there were times when I was a bit bored and wanted it finished. I got confused with all the place names and characters, but I might try the books to better learn the lore.

@Manatleisure if you liked AC Oddysey you'd love Witcher III, I suspect, though it's not really stealth based, but the adventure, RPG, story and world are very similar.

Speaking of Assassins Creed - there's a few on sale in the PS store. I'm thinking of getting Syndicate. I prefer straight action adventure and I like the look of the setting (Victorian London).

Has anyone played AC Syndicate, Unity or the Ezio Collection? Recommendations? They're all going cheap.

Yes when I checked out the review of Witcher 3 at the time I noticed it's not really stealth and i am rubbish at fighting games.

I've played Syndicate, I enjoyed it. Would recommend The Ezio Collection, those early AC games I found to be good fun, AC2 and Brotherhood are classics imo. Unity is a bit on the clunky side gameplay wise and didn't feel as smooth. If you are gonna give them a go I would try the others first and perhaps not bother with Unity.

Yeah witcher isn't stealth. It's straight fighting, but i played on easy mode and it's pretty easy to button bash.

so now you should new game + it.

this sounds nuts, but what you have described is exactly how I felt after I first played it through. the second play through is actually way more fun and you tend to use the potions and stuff more.

regarding assassins creed, I was not a fan of syndicate but never got too far. the ezio collection is good, but some of the gameplay does feel dated now.

Have you played AC black flag?

Not played BF, but I've gone back to Odyssey and to be fair, after being more used to RPG elements from Witcher, it's seemingly really fun again.

I do fine a lot of it annoying. I don't want to have to think too much about dismantling weapons for materials to craft new ones, or choosing what powers to level up. It bores me a bit, but as long as I can just go and pay it basic service and then get on with riding around and killing athenians, it's all good.

The London based AC is only 6 quid on PS store until May 5th, so might get that too.

Isnt Black Flag heavily sea based? There's a bit of ship to ship combat in Odyssey and have to say, it's not a good part of the game IMO.

Also, I do believe you about game +.

I probably only really got the hang of half of the game once I was about 3/4 through it. Before that I was stumbling through somewhat.

Will give it a bit and go back to it. It's definitely a game I can see wanting another run through. Plenty of others are one and done.

According to my PS title screen, however, I've only completed 31% of Witcher. To begin with I was doing every single contract on every board and every side mission that was within 2 or 3 points of my level, but towards the end I jsut focused on main story, but hard to believe I've missed 70% of the game.

I really liked Odyssey, the story was excellent. Black flag is worth a look, I thought the story was excellent. The ship combat in Black Flag does make up a big part of the game, but I actually really enjoyed it. I’ve been waiting for a pirate game to live up to it since.

Yes, as you said in your second message if you get a chance definitely give Witcher on new game + a go. The game has so much depth. I’ve 100% it, some of the side quests are a right hoot.
