Just read the article from Giornale di Sicilia.

Basically it's saying Foschi is in London to hold talks with us and West Brom to see who will give the best offer and finalise the deal. From the link in the post form Harris, unfortunately the quote marks don't have an end so it's difficult to determine whether it's Vasquez or Foschi who gave that quote - however it's a positive one for us as "Piu Watford che West Brom" means "More Watford than West Brom".

So read into it what you will - I read it as a possible quote from Vasquez, but that may be my wishful thinking as I think Pereya will either stay in Italy or got to Zenit.

I would have to think we have the advantage if it just comes down to us and WBA. You'd think the Pozzo name recognition would count for something, plus it seems fair to argue we're on a bigger upswing than West Brom at the moment.

Then again, if it just comes down to money I'm sure they'll offer more.

 

Hey folks, I have an update all the way from Russia. In addition to the article we have today I have been informed my initial source, a sports journalist for the PA that we have definitely enquired for him again this year so this is not just paper talk. This news today seems very pozzotive and I'm hoping we can wrap this one up fairly quickly.

I know a lot of people doubted me on this last year, but I was only passing on what I heard initially. It would be great if it came through.

 

I'm inclined to believe that we're in for both of them - have made offers and have told both camps "There's one slot, whoever signs first gets it. Take our offer or make a reasonable counter, but we're not dragging this out for weeks while you pimp your bloke on every street corner in Europe".

 

Why not have both ?

One is a second striker, the other is a CAM with good defensive work rate.

 

Also the proximity to London will be a big draw for a player.

 

We should try the Holebas trick and just tell him he's signed and that he'll be fined 2 weeks wages if he doesn't get his a**e along to training tomorrow morning sharpish.

Yeah if they're claiming we're not after Pereyra anymore, and we're not chasing Vazquez, who the **** are we after. Also claim we're still in the game for Berahino, which just seems so endlessly pointless, I don't understand. He wouldn't even be in the starting XI straight off the bat, and it's not like we need strikers.
