Nice guy and great leader though. That alone warrants a place in the team, .....and a cup final should we get to one.

 

Sierralta is back in training. My contact, Watford Football Club, sent me a Twitter video.

I have checked with the Chilean end, and they have also confirmed he is in that video.

 

The good take from this interview is there are no hints he's looking to leave. Quite the opposite. Sounds like he's staying, which for me, is a very good thing. He may have been used sparingly in the Prem, but he's one of those players who is very strong in the Championship. I put Kiko and possibly Cleverley (2 years ago) in that bracket too.

 

Probably not looking to leave because nobody in Serie B wants him.

 

Amazing to think he barely got a look in with our creaking defence given "....he played for his country as they lost 1-0 to Brazil in the Copa America Final in July 2021".

 

It certainly seems as if he's happy at the club and is happy to stay; he did also sign a contract extension last season. I think it'll ultimately come down to him being given enough chances to nail down a first team spot again. As long as he's playing here it seems he's not ready to agitate for a move.

 

Well his competition doesn't seem all that tbh.

 

It's the same players who were chosen ahead of him last season, albeit he was out for a fair chunk of it.

If he's recovered enough then hopefully Rob will see sense and start him.

 

God I hope so.

 

Well even if our manager is as braindead/uncaring as the previous bosses, Sierralta has a 50% better chance of getting into the team now with a back 3, albeit I'm not sure if both he and WTE would both fit into a starting XI (shunt one over to the right?)

 

Was back to his dominant best on Saturday. Won everything in the air, in both boxes.

 

Only because of the standard of opposition. Up against Premier League opponents last season he would’ve been out of his depth.

 

Even though I am usually right I will admit that he was good on Saturday and my recent criticism has been harsh. Keep him in the middle of a back three and away from the ball then we'll see the best of him.

 

They do play Premier league football.

Pretty sure we re in the Championship this season so whether hes good enough for EPL is a question we hopefully can ask in a years time.

Has there been any update on his injury? Looked like he was out on the training pitch at least when Choudhury ran the gauntlet yesterday (club Twitter).

 

Minor groin strain so with our medical team, should be back after Christmas

Missed the first half, only listened to it on Hive Live, how did he do? Was he noticeably worse than the other two, or does Edwards just not fancy him?

 

He was noticeably better than the other two. Not that that's a high bar.

He came off because, as usual, some players at this club have more power than they should and play and get their way based on reputation.

 

Does seem odd that Cathcart and/or Kabasele are part of this club, they definitely don't seem like Deeney types. Only thing I can think of is perhaps Edwards prefers Kabasele's 'pace' and Cathcart's 'ability' with the ball at his feet, because it does seem strange to me!
