If it's based on just those two you mention then I absolutely agree buy there must be something else. Maybe he's not giving it his all in training? I agree about the Chile stuff as I seem to remember him not being that happy about us refusing to allow him to travel

I don’t buy the Chile thing. I don’t believe we acted any differently to any other PL club, so for a rift to have developed over that would be totally illogical.

Whether or not we acted differently to another club isn't relevant in the context of whether or not someone might be upset over it. If he feels it was unfair to block him from going he might very well be disgruntled.

It doesn't need to be rational.

One variation of that, possibly more likely than him downing tools, is maybe he’s taken a lot of flak back at home for not answering the call up? Especially after the Argies went and travelled anyway. For a younger lad buzzing after promotion to the PL and a summer spent at the Copa that could be quite the come down.

We have a sh*t, struggling defence, he's our best centre back and the only one with the potential to improve in any substantial way, and thus contribute positively to the team and in time potentially make us some decent money. He's far more valuable to us than f**king Xisco, so if they've fallen out then the clueless little Spaniard needs to disappear even more than he already does.

Suck it up and play him you complete fool. It's absolutely disgusting having to watch Craig Carthorse amble around on a Premier League pitch in 2021.

Quite. More than enough to get him down in the dumps.

I think it’s relevant in that I don’t see any of the other multiple players in the same position sulking (if that’s what he’s doing) or being dropped.

People don't react to disappointment in the same way. Some get on with it. Some sulk. Some get angry. Some say nothing but walk out and are never seen again. Some shrug and are cheerful about it.

Our small business employs about 20 people. All I can say is that the range of reactions you can get to the same incident is surprising. Sometimes it's not even that incident; it's just the straw that breaks the camel's back due to other things that are bothering them.

Regardless, can't see much point discussing it further so I'll shut up. We have no idea what the truth is at the moment so it's all a bit moot; it could be just about anything.

Someone did say to me on Saturday he was told by Gosling that he doesn’t know why he isn’t playing.

Probably says more about Gosling though if we cannot under why a bunch of fairly useful Internationals are ahead of him !

Can't see any of the big Spanish clubs wanting him. He was good in the Championship, completely untested at the highest level and is currently being kept out of the team by Craig Cathcart.

Luckily we have an international break now, did his injury look serious?

Looked like he pulled his hamstring so possibly

Yep. Torn left hamstring confirmed by an MRI scan. Might be out for a while then.

Torn rather than pulled. That’s presumably a very lengthy recovery?

Good luck to Agyakwa or Janjeva on their upcoming league debut.

It's 4 months I believe. Now we're down to just 3 CB's. Who'd have thought we'd get an injury eh?

Now Ranieri is here, maybe he'll persuade Wes Morgan to come out of retirement. Mapps, Prodl and Neuton are still available too.

potentially could be shorter than that, really depends on the grade of the tear. some minor tears can actually heal in as little as three to four weeks, although you are correct major tears can take three to four months.

Fantastic. Salah against Cathcart/Masina. We better double up or the scoreline might be double figures.

If it’s not Salah there is Mane or Jota !

    Two points on this.

    1. I know you're optimistic but come on, it's watford, it'll be the latter.

    2. Hamstring after a proper tear is never the same again, extremely hard to get the same strength back in the muscle and it won't be able to load the same power.

The most optomistic view is he won't be sold in Jan cos he's crocked.

Jeez. Who could have foreseen selling Wilmot and then not bringing in a centreback could have caused a problem? It’s incredible how idiotic our transfer strategy is sometimes. This will probably have a serious impact of our fragile chances of staying up.

The only brightside is it didn't look like he was good enough for the Premier league anyway, though that might have just been down to the cabbage in charge. We'll never know.

Definitely not 4 months. 6 weeks perhaps. Still long enough for us to lose every single match in that timeframe.

Even loaning out Pollock seems like a dumbass thing to do at present. Failure to invest in defenders will see us relegated - again - for the exact same reason as last time.

I guarantee that Kabasele will be injured as well within a month. Troost will stand alone.

We'll probably have to wait for official conformation from the club to be sure, but their comms about this sort of thing is not always the best.

I think away AL is away on holiday this week, so I doubt he'll do one on Thursday. However, I'll fill in for him.

With Sierralta's unlucky and unforeseen injury, Watford still have an abundance of quality to choose from. Seasoned international Craig Cathcart, Belgium international Cristian Kabasele and Nigerian captain William Troost-Ekong are all highly experienced central defenders. Moroccan international Adam Masina is capable of deputising if required and Rob Elliot looked really good on Ben Foster's GoPro video. Watford are well-stocked to cope with the absence of Sierralta.
