Another thing to note is that Sierrallta appears to have filled in at RWB in the friendlies as much as, if not more so, than at CB. If we're considering him as a double back-up for CB and Ngakia (with Femenia expected to leave), then perhaps it still leaves the door open for a more left-sided CB to still come in. Here's hoping anyway.

 

Of course, Ivic will have been able to run the rule over him the last couple of weeks too. You reckon we’re still after another CB or this is it?

 

I’ve noticed in Ivic system when we have the ball the back 3 seem to play really far apart across the pitch

 

Isn't he a bit large for a RWB ? Thought he was about 6ft 4 ??

 

He's not slow by any means, but from the little I've seen of him on the right, he's looked uncomfortable. That said, I don't think he has played RWB in the friendlies

The fact he was on trial and not signed up immediately shows (I hope) that we are giving our managers a slightly bigger role in transfer decisions. Ivic said he talks to the hierarchy daily about transfers, and I believe he has a say in the type of player they bring in (not necessarily position - that's probably still above his pay grade).

 

In the champ you can't have too many poor but cheap squad players who will never play for us. There are 46 matches + cup games y'know.

You could be right - but personally think you're giving Gino and the club too much credit there. Giraldi spoke out the other day in Italian media and is also back working at the training ground...his remit may have changed slightly but I see no signs of him leaving.
