Agree. Whilst Dele-Bashiru seems to be developing fine, you'd be concerned about him being played for any prolonged period of time. I'd imagine even a 4th choice DM is going to get a lot of minutes this season given the increased number of games, shortened length of the season, generally intense nature of the league, injury record of Hughes and Chalobah and Capoue's advancing years. Think we do need some additional strength there.

Looks ok to me - not sure any other champ clubs will have better. They would be **** in the Prem, but not bad for this season

 

I thought the point was over the last few years all our CBs were championship standard. Don’t say now we are in the championship they are L1 level....

 

Quite happy with that, he adds power and a bit of depth at the back.

Let's face it, Dawson, Cathcart & Kabasele would walk into any Championship defence, they're just not good enough for the Premier League! IF we go back up we will need to sign a whole new defence (centre-backs). Let's get up first!

Dawson yes, Cathcart maybe, Kabasele no chance. I'm confident in saying he will look no better in this league than he did in the PL - potentially worse as he has the ability to get absolutely bullied in this league.

 

Got to hand it to the club - they now know the CB's we have are Championship quality at best...so rather than stay up and have their inability to scout quality CB's on show again, the've decided to go down and let them play at their level.

 

All opinions but I don't think Kabasele is as bad you say. Has the occasional brain fart but who doesn't. I'm more concerned by Cathcarts drop in form. I haven't seen this new guy play, what's he like? Clearly Ivic must have been ok with this?

 

Ben White was obviously a cut above anything we have, but is Liam Cooper really better than what we have? If so why has he never played PL football?

Fulham went up with Tim Ream playing almost every game and he is one of the worst centre backs I have seen in the PL. Michael Hector is a 28 year old championship journeyman.

West Brom went up with Kyle Bartley and Hegazy who hardly excelled in the premier league and a youngster from Rotherham.

We do need to be a bit realistic about what division we are in.
