Could well be signing on loan. Central defender from our friends at Udinese.

 

Spent last couple of seasons on loan at Parama and Empoli in Serie A

6"4 centre back, 23 years old

 

Hopefully he'll be a good signing. Looks like he barely played at Parma or Empoli according to Wiki, but of course the season was curtailed soon after his loan anyway.

 

Yay, a defender! Apparently he's had injury problems in the past, which have stalled his progress, but he's played for Chile so there must be something there, plus at 6'5, he's not a Deulofeu type who would have relied on his pace too much

 

This is one to silence the doubters!

 

At Empoli on loan for a full half a season the second half of the one just ended, available for a full 19 games, but managed to get benched entirely for 5 of his last 9 there, playing just 18 minutes of a 6th. I suppose we'd need an Empoli fan to tell us for sure with all possible context, but it's not an incredibly promising experience, in Serie B, for a new arrival at London Colney.

 

from his highlights video he looks ok. But in the 'headers and finishing section' there wasn't a single goal, so he's no John Terry.!

First video I found on YouTube consists of him coming on out of position at right back, getting regularly rinsed by the winger, passing to no-one, making lots of pointless fouls and hitting the worst shot you've ever seen. Welcome to Watford!

 

Wow....I thought whoever we signed at centre back would be, by default, better than what we already have. I was wrong......but maybe it's a tactic to make Cathcart and Dawson look better?

He looks absolute sh1t from that clip though.

 

Was that a highlights reel or a scouting video for the opposition to show his weaknesses?

I'm happy to write him off after one game. It's the Watford (fan) way

 

I've posted that very tongue in cheek and he was playing out of position. Britos was a car crash at left back (apart from one game against Arsenal) but was a very capable Premier League centre back so who knows what he's like when he's starting in his proper position.

 

That may be the worst YouTube video I've seen of a player coming to Watford. Might as well play Spencer-Adams.

 

Which Pozzo should we blame? It seems like Giampaolo is punishing Gino more than anything else. Unless we assume our top brass actually wanted to sign this lad!

 

Helped that he was left-footed too. Seemed to make us more solid. Difficult to find a decent left-footed center back.

 

I know, it's very disappointing. Why get rid of Mapps and replace him with this guy.

It should be exciting when we sign a new player, but this one looks like a very poor effort. I'm not even going to make the effort to pronounce his name as he won't be playing unless we have all players injured.

 

Have we actually signed this guy?
