Fox Hunting Horse Beater

Discussion in 'Taylor's Tittle-Tattle - General Banter' started by Relegation Certs, Nov 9, 2021.

  1. Yes I have friends who moved away from SA due to the need to have barbed wire and a gun to protect their home. Beautiful country but so dangerous.
I should clarify the car wasn’t trashed in any way and she got all the dye off eventually. It wasn’t the fact that she went on a hunt that infuriated many, it was the fact that she was so proud of it, belittled the life that was taken, and talked in great detail about the blood being painted on her face as a first time hunter. We felt her car may have been jealous at missing out on the fun.
The punchline ? She’s actually one of only c40 friends on FB now and has changed her views by 180 degrees since those days. Who knows maybe that 2am manoeuvre helped ? She doesn’t know who daubed the dye though 30 years ago. Perhaps a message from God? :).

Does she know it was you that dyed her car?

Baby you can dye my car…

Reading this reminds me of a chum of mine (no, not me) who was invited on a pheasant shoot and shot an owl! He didn't get asked back

  6. You've gone too far. At 11 his daughter wouldn't have made her own decisions. That's a horrible story. Even if it had happened to the father instead.

Agree completely about the young girl. I probably wouldn’t shed any tears over an adult at a hunt falling off their horse and hurting themselves.

  8. Hurting themselves, yes, but paralysed, no, wouldn't wish that on anyone.

This is a bit rum but I suppose the chances are the kid would have grown up to be as big a khunt as the parents. But there is also a chance she would have ploughed her own furrow in life so I cannot agree with this.

The father on the other hand is fair game.

It was a 2 year old, google it if you want.

And yes I feel sad that the girl died, its not a nice event.

But do I have any sympathy for the parents who took her on a hunt.. Aged 2? None whatsoever.

My mrs just told me that horse slap woman* lives in the same town as us…. At least she did until she got hounded out of her house the other day…

*How does this story compare to cat bin lady a few years ago?

Pretty ridiculous given what she did to the horse is a tiny fraction as bad as what's done to the bloody foxes she chases.

Obviously this person is a c**t.

Obviously taking part in fox hunting makes you a c**t.

Obviously it’s not okay to vandalise people’s property for being a c**t.

Because most people are c**ts at numerous times in their lives, and then most of us would have to deal with paint etc on a semi-regular basis. What a bore.

Saying a 2 year old deserved paralysis/ death, or her parents deserve their child to die, for going to a hunt is one of the most idiotic and revolting things said on this forum, and I’ve been a member of the politics section for quite some time.

Time to fetch some paint methinks.

We have the Avon Vale Hunt near where I live, we ran into them recently, they were lording it about and pretending to be trail hunting, we saw a hare make a run for it, so we got out phones out and started filming, they were nice as pie to us until that point. I went for a ten mile walk today in the same area where we ran into them a few months ago, no sign of them today, although I did see three wild Deer.

I remember at the thinking it was funny and good luck to him, but this seemed not be the majority view. I guess I'm warped.

Nope. But some utter idiot snorts at a child being killed/paralysed because they disagree with hunting which is 1000 times worse.

nobody no matter their beliefs or opinions deserves to lose their young child or have them paralysed. to suggest that is in my opinion completely abhorrent.

Reminds me of the MM disappearance, you're naturally going to get varying degrees of sympathy for parents putting their children in an obviously risky position, with varying views on how risky that position actually was. I admit being pleased about it is a rather extreme view. None the less, taking a 2 year old to a fox hunt was obviously a stupid thing to do, proof of concept being in the outcome.

Do you seriously think the 2 year old was riding in a hunt?! More likely that the accident happened at the hunt's pony club or similar

    MM disappearance?? Malky McKay??

I don’t know the specifics, but if the child died or was left paralysed then it was clearly in a dangerous situation. The proof is kind of in the pudding is not?

Edit: a very quick google proves your supposition to be very wrong:

    https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/metr...falling-from-pony-during-a-hunt-15279362/amp/

The two year old was literally taking part in the hunt.

But yeah, I suppose you can’t blame the parents for not realising that if a two year old falls off a horse it might be bad. Clearly a mistake any parent could make.

It was a pony. No more dangerous for a child to fall off a pony than, for example, off the back of a bicycle peddled by a parent, I'd say. Just a horrible accident and no reason the parents should reproach themselves at all. But they happen to take enjoy country pursuits, so f**k 'em, eh

You’re right, just a freak accident, if the parents have anymore toddlers they should carry on strapping them to ponies and have them partake in an illegal blood sport, alongside a pack of dogs and adults on full size horses. I couldn’t think of a single thing that could contribute to a 2 year olds death in those circumstances. Falling off the horse would be fine for anyone normally, it’s not like it’s ever killed any adults, let alone 2 year old children. and I doubt any of the full-size horses could’ve trampled on them or anything like that. They probably weren’t even going fast, foxes are of course notoriously slow when running for their lives.

It’s just one of those weird things that just happens sometimes, it’s pretty absurd that any link at all could be drawn between the activity and the death. It’s a bit like a grand piano falling out of the sky and killing the 2 year old, impossible to foresee or mitigate against.

Absolutely no reason for the parents to reproach themselves at all, as you were everyone.

So a two year shouldn't ski, swim, cycle etc - things that are mostly safe but involve an element of risk? Have you got children? If not, believe me you'll have their name down for sky diving lessons by the age of two

It’s all about context isn’t it, you don’t see many 2 year olds on black runs, cycling down A roads, or swimming in red flag conditions in the sea do you.

You sound like one of those American lunatics defending their right to bare arms just after a high school massacre.

    Bear.

“The right to bare arms” means something else entirely, although a constitutional amendment to that effect would save many lives.

How do you know the context of the child's death? All we know is she was on a pony. The idea that a 2 year old on a pony would be riding out with the hunt is frankly preposterous

Despite all the news reports saying that’s exactly what happened. It’s only preposterous to you because it doesn’t fit your pro hunting stance. Easier to ignore the stated facts and pretend the parents did nothing wrong. The information is out there but of course it’s useless if you don’t want to believe it.

Sometimes when a child goes for a swim in crocodile filled water or shoots themselves with a loaded gun they found in their sock drawer, it's hard to feel sorry for the idiot parents. I have no doubt they were not actively "hunting" aged 2. But nevertheless they were there and as such I cant feel sympathy for the parents. If hunting isnt a **** thing to do, then taking your 2 year old along certainly is.

Were my initial comments about the incident a bit crude and OTT? Yeah I accept that and apologise to the hypocritical snowflakes it may upset. But I still think it's the parents fault and have no sympathy as such for them. I think they're ****s twice over.
