watford have accepted an offer from swansea for danny graham worth 3.5 million (sky sports News.)

Clever move - now watch QPR / WBA / Newcastle all try to outbid - expect newcastle to put Nile Ranger + £2.5m on the table / WBA £2m + Cox or £3m + miller and QPR £3.5m cash upfront with no catches extras at 25% from all of them

Deal not likely to be signed till midweek - Danny will have a nice choice.

Don't expect Watford to spend more than a million of it with the rest paying down Ashcroft & Co debts inherited by Bas and covering trading deficit and Carlisles £0.5m .
Conway is a done deal as far as I know - this releases Buckley to Brighton for £800k. The Ashley Young saga will resolve this week is my guess after the international - Watford windfall at least £800k
Wiggins for £400k if Taylor does not commit by monday. Phillips as player coach looks nailed on (sorry Walsall but be serious!)
Don't be surprised if the price for CMS falls dramatically now Norwich are sorted with Vaughan and Morrison in the bag and Swansea / Everton / QPR looking more upmarket - £1.5m + Deeney will get him with only a year on his contract. If WBA get Graham and Cox or Miller join then CMS value falls further as Watford (his preference) drop out of the chase.

West brom will bid £2.5million plus Ishmael Miller, for Watfords Danny Graham on monday as they want the deal done quick.

Saw this on one of the West Brom boards too, that would certainly be worth considering - remember him and KP scoring when they demolished us at the vic a few years ago actually. Would be great two have those two link up again - wishful thinking and all that.

 

I suspect we will get one or two more bids for Danny tomorrow

 

If we were to receive cash plus a player would it alleviate to some degree what we must pay Carlisle or is some form of value identification placed on the player coming in our direction?

If so I think this is the route other clubs may take in order to appeal to us more so than Swansea's bid.

This would also be good for us in that it would open the doors to players otherwise far out of our reach, ie Miller, Ranger etc.

 

We'd lend them the play every few games...

This seems pretty realistic at the moment. Rumours I have heard about WBA bid for Graham are that they will offer us either £2.25m + Cox or £2.75m + Miller. Buckley has gone giving us £800k. Taylor has not committed so we shall see about Wiggins shortly hopefully. Young is set to do a £16m switch to United giving us approx £900k. The Vaughan and Morison deals are done, How about a strikeforce of Phillips, Miller, Sordell and CMS then? Then Conway replacing Buckley. What is all the fuss about? The squad will be stronger than last season if this is true!

 

We will not be signing Simon Cox.

People seem to be forgetting that he has been a regular for West Brom ever since Roy Hodgson took over. We wouldn't be able to afford his wages either.

 

Spot on. We also won't be signing CMS. A.Taylor is a possibility as I think he would have signed by now. We should try and get Wiggins anyway. Then its all about the loans .....

 

Norwich striker Chris Martin COULD be joining Watford. Not sure whether the deal would be a permanent one or loan but Malky Mackay has spoken to Norwich about Martin as he looks to replace Graham. Phillips has all but signed and the deal will be confirmed when he is back from holiday (not sure when).

Graham and Buckley will be the only departures. Loach will only be sold if an offer of around £2million comes in for him but that is unlikely. Malky will be given about £600,000 of the Buckley sale to sign players with. Wiggins is likely to join for near £400,000 whilst the rest of the money will be used to buy talent from the lower leagues and SPL. Conway is yet to decide whether to join Palace or Watford. I'm sure we have many more targets but this is all I've heard so far.

 

Thing is Ron, NOT doubting this as absolute rubbish, but how would some of the players from our academy now this?!

 

Sounds good, but Chris Martin has played for Luton in the past, although he does a good tune.

Well, reading the story about him being 'thrilled' about joining Swanny on the Wobby website, the Swansea chairman states they look forward to concluding the deal with Graham once he is back from holiday. I can't see Graham going back on his word but true - it may not be quite over.
