Midway through my 2nd season with Watford. Finished 14th last season, currently im 4th.

My team is:

Heaton
Hodson, Addo, Taylor, Jordan
Abalo, Mcgugan, Clifford, Wylde
Sordell, Harewood.

Mcgugan is a cracking signing for just 700k, sordell is currently on 42 goals in 46 appearances, and harewood is on 23 in 41.

 

Doesn't matter now anyway. Paul Lambert got the Liverpool job, though West Ham, who just got relegated have just offered me the manager's job. Definitely taking it.

Stay. Your reputation will remain decent, even if you fail to reach the same heights with Watford again. But you've got to give it a shot.

 

Just watching Benfica v Chelsea and absolutely loving the chance to watch Pablo Aimar. Out of nostalgia, I've cracked out the CM01/02 disk and loaded it up. Found my Watford game from many a year ago, being led by that man Aimar and sitting top of the Premier League.

Easily one of my favorite ever versions of the game. Incredible playability.

 

Fired up another unemployed game, only used 50,000 players this time because using 90,000 made it crash in the second season as my computer isn't good enough.

Ended up as manager of Criciúma in the Brazilian second division. Signed a ton of Brazilians and developed a pretty decent 4-1-2-1-2, finished the season in 4th (top 4 teams get promoted, no play offs). Signed a whole load more Brazilians and for the first three months I was cruising - after 15 games I was 4th. Then, for no conceivable reason, I went on an 8 game winless run, won a game, then lose five in a row, then won two and then didn't win again until the penultimate game of the season. I got relegated by a point. In my first season I also won the state championship, which was good.

After that I was sick of Brazil and I rage quit after the last game, resigned as manager (it was mid-November by then) and applied for work. Ipswich, who were 10th in the Championship and only 4 points off the play offs said they were flattered by my interest and would be foolish not to consider me. They then offered me a three year contract - with a wage budget of £190,000/week and a £3m transfer budget!

I said thank you very much, applied a tried-and-tested attacking 4-4-2 and abruptly lost my first game against Bolton 5-1. Then I won my next 5 games on the spin, drew two and then won a few more. I'm 5th at the moment, and with the huge wage budget I was free to sing up a few players to make the squad stronger.

Ridiculous amount of deadweight in the Ipswich squad. I have 7 players on over £10,000/week, none of whom play.

Just been offered the Nigeria job, despite being ranked 13th in the world and having a few decent players they finished bottom of their ACON group. Should I take the job? Got Jamaica to the World Cup semi-finals before losing to England, and Jamaica was a great job to have but it took up a lot of time. If I do go back into the International scene I'd prefer a top job. What should I do?

I need a life.

 

Go for it..beat up on a bunch of smaller Africans nations and use it to get a better job.

 

Can't wait until the end of finals so I can get back into some FM for the summer.

 

For anyone that can't find a save - can't recommend Gladbach enough, really enjoying it so far.

Have about 3 or 4 unbelievable home grown kids, all easily good enough to start from the beginning, a solid team, low expectations, a stunning new stadium and a great history.

 

Anybody else take immense joy from creating strange manager names for yourself? Or is everybody boring and just goes by their normal name?

After one game as Nigeria manager in which I lost fairly badly to France, I have been offered the Australia job, what shall I do?

They went out to Uzbekistan in the Asia Cup, not sure which side has best potential for the world cup in 2018, I am only in 2015

I turned the Australia job down, stayed at Nigeria. I'm at Watford, finishing in the top 4 for the 2nd season running, trying to cut down my squad at the moment. I have one player who I signed originally on £30k a week, then had a match highest earner and 10% yearly wage rise clause, rookie mistake from me, and he is on 99k a week. He does't get near my team anymore and I've even offered him to clubs for free but nobody would take him due to his wages. I tried to offer him a new contract on lower terms but an extension, and he asked for £135k a week.

Also I just got Balotelli on a free. I wasn't desperate for a player like him but it's Balotelli

 

Been playing a little bit of FM in the last few days to celebrate the end of the school year. Started a game as Crewe and managed to scrape into the play-offs, eventually going on to win promotion. Started the season League 2 desperately poorly, leaking goals at an alarming rate. Haven't had a penny to spend on transfers so it's been free transfers and loans to improve the squad. Finally began to turn things around after a few tactical adjustments and with 6 games remaining, we're sat in 4th, potentially able to sneak automatic promotion if results go our way.

A little side note, Luton Town have just been taken over by a Thai Billionaire who has made 33 million pounds (don't know how to make the pound symbol on this yank laptop) available for players transfers. Considering they are in League 2, I fancy them to have some success. Supposedly the new owner wants to make them into a footballing superpower and will spend whatever it takes.

 

The race for 2nd place went down to the final day. I sat in third place, 2 points behind Tranmere in second place. They were away to run-away champions Peterborough who had 105 points going into the final day, whilst I faced mid-table Rochdale.

It looked like the dream was over on 81 minutes when a combination of questionable disallowed goals (On loan Joe Garner saw his effort chalked out for diving) and penalties had given Rochdale a 3-1 lead. Somehow we managed to hit 3 goals in the remaining 9 minutes and miss a couple of glaring chances to take the victory 4-3. I genuinely shouted with delight when the winner went in, followed by a mad tactical scramble to shut up shop for the remaining seconds. Big grin on my face right now. Come on!!

 

I am having a horrible season. Strengthened in the summer, signed Joe Lewis as back up to Loach for £1m. Yoann Gourcuff on a free, Kara from Milan and also signed Ashley Young permanently. Chalobah as back up from Chelsea, and also Kyle Walker to play right back. I can't seem to get a win from anywhere and in November I am 14th. Players keep coming to me and complaining about how they're losing faith in me, and Prince Buaben was so disappointed he asked to go on the transfer list, despite him begging me to take him off it in the summer! Had a couple team meetings and morale has been raised a fair bit, but still can't seem to win. Got Villa away which is make or break IMO. Let's see how it goes!

Just started a game as udinese.

 

After a shocking start to the season I was bottom half, I then finished 4th, sneaking above Liverpool with a few games to go. Then won the Champions League at Ibrox beating Juventus, Real Madrid along the way and Man United in the final on penalties. Liverpool offered me their job, and with £65m to spend, a bigger club, a new challenge was considering taking it until Watford board announce a new stadium will be built.

Offered me a 5 year contact on £74,000 a week and I'm not bothered about taking it so going to see if they'll agree to this contract

 

Having a cracking season at Udinese, achieving much more than early season form suggested.

After starting the season with 3 draws, I was expecting a mid table finish, but find myself near the end of March top of the league by a point, with a game in hand, still unbeaten. Isla and Armero are incredible as free roaming wing backs, scoring for fun, in the Italian cup final after a dramatic win at the San Siro. Up front I seriously lacked firepower, and invested in two 'risk' signings in the summer, Yarmolenko and Maxi Lopez. Yarmolenko has proved somewhat of an enigma, scoring 14 goals this season, albeit 3 hat tricks, so incredibly inconsistent, but inconsistently incredible, Maxi Lopez had made a decent foil to be fair to him, and often plays well, but just isn't a goal scorer, 2 for him this season. The real catalyst behind my success seems to have been the signing of Diamanti for a mere 3.9 mil in January, 15 goals in 13 games, scores nearly every free kick and is just utterly brilliant.

 

Euro 2016 is finished and Croatia and Sweden offered me their jobs. I waited and Stuart Pearce ****ed off and the FA came calling. Watford and England manager. Just got Nasri for £2m, trying to trim down my squad a little, sign a couple real top playert then challenge for the title after finishing 4th again and won the Champions League

 

Only play as watford and I get promoted everytime I play with them, currently finished 8th in my first season in the prem. If anyone wants to know who to sign to definitely get promoted let me know

 

Been playing fm lately, I decided to download the latest transfers (up to Saturday) and decided to manage Portsmouth. I didn't think it would be that hard, even though they have -10 points to start off with, and £65m in debt :/. Turns out it is, I can't sign any players, and I only have 14 first team players. I've currently played 13 games and have 3 points, so not to bad!

 

I have clocked over 770 hours on fm, im a bit of a geek on this game haha

 

Keep us updated with how that goes! Sounds like a bit of a tough situation to be in. Have you drawn 3 and lost 10, or won 1 and lost 12?

 

I'm playing it at the moment and I'm still last in league 1 with 12 points. Won 5 drew 7 and lost 7, I would be on 22 points if I didn't get 10 points deducted at the beginning of the season. To make it worse Coventry (league 1) are getting taking over by a tycoon who promises a transfer budget of £48m :O but other than that I'm doing fine

 

Well after 20 games I got sacked if you are still interested I can update you on where I go next. That was one of the shortest managerial jobs I've had.

 

Portsmouth really don't help themselves! haha! But yeah, i'm intregued to know what job you manage to pick up on the back of the Portsmouth one!
