I need some of that kind of action at AFC Wimbledon. Season 3, and I'm getting tired of working with a transfer budget of £21,000 and a wage budget of £20,000 p/w.

I know i'm only currently League 2, but making progress financially is neigh on impossible when no one will take any of my dead-wood off of me. :dismay:

You must be encroaching upon the housing down Occupation Road and the allotments by now.

Currently expanding the south stand (Rookery) by 7,000 seats so must be!
I quite like imagining what it looks like.

I Imagine a huge east stand and another tier on the Rous

I'm starting to forget what it looked like with people actually occupying the visual space of the East Stand.

Does the atmosphere continue to get quieter in the 3rd tier of the Rous, as per the correlation between atmosphere and height above the pitch with the current Rous stand?

No, the atmosphere is better in the 3rd tier but the current middle tier is still the posh corporate area, all of the seats are padded and perfect for Champions League nights. We have a large East Stand with a masssive scoreboard and clock (just for you Admin). It is a two-tiered affair Called the 'Graham Taylor Stand' and the Vicarage Road end is the family end with reasonable priced tickets
The Yellow Order have grown and pretty much take up the whole Rookery now and the atmosphere is electric. Away fans are situated in the corner cramped up meaning they can't influence the atmosphere too much.
    It's fantastic

    It sounds beautiful.

I had quite an amusing few games earlier in league 2 with my AFC Wimbledon team.

Firstly, I was 2-0 up against L*t*n, then 3-2 down and ended up winning 4-3 with a sub scoring my winner in the 83rd minute.

Then a couple of games later, I found myself 2-0 up at home to Hereford inside 15 minutes courtesy of 2 own goals from the Hereford keeper, Bartlett. I ended up winning 3-2!

End of season 3, defeat 6-2 on aggregate in the Playoff Semi-Finals against Grimsby.

My star centre back got sent off in the final league game, as well as a multitude of injuries, resulted in 2 very flat performances in the play-offs.

Another season in League 2 for AFC Wimbledon beckons.

Can't be arsed to explain my current save on FM08 in any great detail, started out at Watford and spent 6 and a half seasons there taking them to Championship glory and then 2 years of stability/just missing out on europe in the prem. Champions league football followed for 2 out of the following 3 seasons but without further financial backing from the board we were never going to push for a title challenge and whilst getting into the top 4 was great the lack of progression was frustrating.

I duely resigned and then 2 months later pressured Celtic into sacking John Collins in Feb 2013, with the club languishing down in 7th i salvaged 3rd place and Euro Cup spot. No league title since i began the game my first full season ended in frustration finishing 2nd to Hearts and just a league cup to our name. The league title finally came last season along with another league cup, denied a domestic treble by a inept performance in the cup final. Champions league was a waste of time.

I'm aiming for a domestic treble and some sort of progress in europe but without being able to attract top experienced players it's very hard. I find myself having to go for young talent who generally develop into really good players, realise this and then want to move to bigger clubs. Smashing Rangers has become an enjoyably regular event, although the best moment came in the 95th minute at Ibrox in a league game, a 36yr old Artur Boruc charged up the field for a corner and buried a header into the top corner

Whilst all that mumbo jumbo has been happening i spent 5 years as Jamaica boss and became a national hero after winning the Gold Cup in 2015. Jamal Campbell-Rice'n'Pea the extra time hero in the final against Mexico. Making the 1st knockout round of the 2014 was also something to be proud of but with Jamaica not being a 'active' nation in my game there's no new players coming through. There's only so long Marlon and Damien Francis can do a job for, thus i resigned in 2016. Went for the Spain job but Rafa Benitez got that and thus i'll wait a while longer for my next international job.

Sorry guys but you've got nothing on me.

13 seasons in with Watford. Won the Prem and FA Cup countless times.

Club valued at £175m, 53,000 seater stadium called 'Watford Stadium' (***** name).

Champo league every season. If only real life reflected my save!

I like to think of my AFC Wimbledon save as a project.

I don't have anywhere near enough time to get that far into one game, and if I did, I reckon i'd get bored. Both sound like solid efforts though! :)

Currently in the year 2014, managing Chilean side Municipal Iquique, most fun I have had in a save in a long time.

Started off unemployed, eventually got a job in Malaysia managing newly promoted Titiwangsa FC, I can tell you now. Standards in Malaysia are appalling and finding any player with slight talent was near impossible, regardless. In my first year I gained promotion to the top flight, and in my second my team was crowned champions. I left a couple of weeks after, having realised I wasn't enjoying my time there.

So unemployed again, I applied for job after job, but because I was only known in the Asian area, only Indonesian clubs were really willing to offer me anything. Which I of course declined. I also received a few offers here and there from BSP teams like Darlington, and lower league German teams. But when I got the offer from Municipal Iquique, I just had to accept.

I love the league structure in Chile, and I love the way teams play football. and the quality of player (although still poor) feels like Premiership compared to Malaysia.

In my first year there, I got us promoted and won the Chile national cup. We're currently sitting pretty at the top of the Campeonato Nacional Petrobas, can't wait for the rest of the season.

Also, interesting side note. My top goalscorer in my first Season at Titiwangsa, is now my Assistant Manager at Municipal.

Anything else you guys want to know, just ask. Got all leagues and every player in the game loaded.

Glad to see this thread restarted again, FM is always that much better when your talking about it with other people, also makes it feel less sad. Danthek I know what you mean about random countries inducing the most satisfying FM saves, turning Sandefjord into European and domestic champions over the space of 5 seasons, signing only norwegian's, was perhaps by best save ever. This ended about a month ago with the wonderful XML parsing error, so am about to start a save, after watching the FL show i've decided to go for Bury, think I can surprise some teams and get comfortable top half. My aim is for the first time in the England lower leagues to focus on youth players, and stabilising finances rather than quick promotions. Will report back later.

Kane, I'm all about youth. So if you need any help, let me know. Bury are a fun team to play with. Ryan Lowe will come up big for you, (Although he's far from youth.)
Finances in lower league is very hard, looking at Bury now, it seems their affiliated clubs (Manchester's UTD and City) are paying them nothing, so may be a good idea to cancel the link and ask for some new parents.

The frustration of confirming the signing of Isco from Valencia's reserve team, Valencia Mestalla, with a month left of the season... and then finding out that between the confirmation of the transfer, and the transfer of the player to AFC Wimbledon, Isco suffered a nice 8 month Knee Ligament injury. That's one of the 2 seasons on his contract out the window already. At least he's only on £150 p/w.

And as Danthek says, it's all about the youth... very rarely will I sign a player older than 25. The average age of my squad at the start of my 4th season is 22.

In the year 2015 but have still got Doyley, Jenkins and Mariappa as they qualify as home grown for the premierleague. Any tips for getting a better academy, upgraded networking facilities and everything to do with youth but they're still all sh1t.

You can try and ask the Board, I always find that they are reluctant to say yes at first. But if you choose the third reply option, which should be something like, "I really can't stress how important I feel this is to the club" then they will accept. Takes a while for the changes to come about mind.

They've upgraded it all several times! But the youth team is still awful.

The transfer was completed and set to go through on he first day of the transfer window when he was fit and playing for Valencia Mestalla - it was between then and the date of the transfer that he picked up his injury - so not really much that I could do.

But regardless of that, in essence, yes, my staff sucks given i'm in League 2. Hopefully, promotion this season and then I can start attracting some decent staff...

Watford. We've won the League the last 2 seasons. CL winners last season and currently 8 points clear in February.

Well that is odd! I know regens used to be rubbish, but I always thought personally that problem had been solved in the last patch. Are the players terrible? or at an average calibre?

Won the league with Celtic but blew a domestic treble by losing the scottish cup final to Hearts  Moved onto the 2016/2017 season with dreams of domestic domination and improving on our Champions league performances. Neither of these things happened, by December we trailed league leaders St.Mirren by 8 points and had crashed out of the league cup in the QF. A home defeat to Rangers was the straw that broke the camels back so i quit.

Applied for jobs here and there without much luck and decided a league one relegation scrap with QPR was the way forward with my reputation still at world class. Joined at the end of the year and had a bit of a revamp in January but it never went well and i dragged the hoops into league two. Some decent signings had me thinking of walking league two. 3 games, 3 draws, 1 goal and I lost interest so once more i quit with my reputation needing some rebuilding.

It took till December to get the job at Bradford, once again in league one but with a sniff of the play-offs. Mid-table seems the most likely outcome with 10 games to go. On the look out for a better job but will see what the summer brings.

Oh and i've taken over the Norway job midway through WC qualification, fine away wins at Poland and Portugal meant a win over N.Ireland in our last match would see us get at least a play-off spot but a draw meant we missed out by a point :doom:

How do you improve your shooting rating for your training. There is no searchable shooting attribute and a high attacking doesn't necessarily help. What should I be looking for?

My advice: Put all the leagues on so you have over 100,000 players, and start unemployed.

I have just ended up in the South African second division. The only countries not in my game are india, china and those other ones in that row of countries. I'm in charge of MP Black Aces, have won 6 in 6 having scored 20 and conceded 3. So far, including pre season, my record is 100% wins.

Game is slower, but makes it far more interesting.

Oh and to scout shooting coaches download FM scout.

I tried to play a network game with my friend and every time we typed in the i.p address, it says' server un avaliable' or something on those lines.

His friend say in order to play a network game together we need to download something, but im not sure?

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

I guess when its a network game it means a local network, not over the internet. But as you said, someone may have written some coding to allow it

Maybe either yours or your friends firewall might be stopping the game from connecting to the internet.

Try and add the game as an exception to the firewall list to allow it to connect to the internet.

If you can't figure it out then close the firewall while you're playing it and open it back up again when you're done.

Just came 3rd in the Premier League with Watford, 3rd season in. My team is:
    Loach

    Hodson, Caulker, Onouha, Souare,

    Buaben, Spearing,
    Obertan, Vossen, Sinclair

    Sharp

Sharp is my top scorer with 20 goals in his first premierleague season. Sinclair also has 14 goals, Vossen getting 15 and Yannick Sagbo my other striker netting 12.

Dalglish has been sacked by Liverpool and I have been linked with the job, I think finishing 3rd is a massive fluke and won't be able to get anywhere near it next season, should I continue with my Watford team in Europe or apply for the Liverpool job and see what I can do with them?
