The problem was, I think, we needed Dawson to be the 'lead CB' which he's not up to in the EPL. His reasonable form at Wet Spam is closely linked to the fact that he mostly plays as the 'secondary CB'. Let's not forget that the horror show that season began with Dawson attempting to 'play out from the back' by trying to thread the eye of the needle into a congested, pressing midfield. Pass was picked off, 5 seconds later they'd scored.
