Presumably one of the things Festy needs to improve on is not rolling his eyes once more when our Tom attempts to suggest Jezza has the edge on him as a footballer...?
Might as well send him back then ? Is probably the best RWB we have - certainly attacking wise. Obviously less effective on the left . The first time we have seen Tom pick out a player for criticism in public I think .
Very disappointed to read this. As 4ever says, its unheard of for Tom to publicly criticise a player. Perhaps Festy is difficult to manage, but I have not heard anything like that from his time playing in Ireland or for Ireland. I would be pissed off if I were Festy. It is my firm view that he should be playing right back, but TC has a totally different view to me.
His appearances against Cardiff and QPR were pretty abysmal. If a player gets dropped you'd expect them to give it everything when they do get on, Festy looked like he couldn't be bothered. I think he is excellent when he's on it, so hopefully he can turn it around.
I wonder if the sulking is a reaction to being shunted onto the left, because I don’t think it’s his fault that he’s been played there, but he’s not helping his cause one bit, even if Ngakia has been average
Needs a run of games. Clearly has more talent than the other duds (if you haven't played the game to a decent standard then you wouldnt have a clue).
Needs to earn it when he gets the chance as well. Bags of talent but he's been terrible in his most recent showings.
It's down to the manager for me. Looks like TC doesn't know how to get him playing well so has just given up. Sad!
“He had a small niggle that we didn’t risk him for, but there is also a lot of competition in that area of the pitch also. Between Andrews, Ebosele, Larouci, Morris, and Abankwah we have a lot of competition and I don’t need to have five in that area to come with us. These players know how much I value training and hard work, and if you don’t show that then it’s going to be an uphill task."
Shame, I've quite liked the cut of his jib so far, doesn't seem lacking in effort on match day to me but TC defo seems to dislike his attitude/application in training, not the first mention.
He has to me, certainly in his last few appearances. He's capable of much more than he's shown recently.
Hopefully he responds to the TC tough love. He could really make an impact in the season’s run in. I like the thought of a motivated Festy with something in the tank.
I am disappointed if this is true, as it seems completely out of character for him. I have not heard anything before that suggests that he does not put in the effort. Maybe it is just a clash and Festy has got to learn that he does not have the upper hand and he needs to dig deep and get back in with the gaffer. Where are his friends, agent and family to advise him?
I'm not sure it is: "Afterwards, Rooney said: 'Festy's attitude wasn't right, wasn't great, I left him out of the squad because of it.' Ebosele has since trained with the under-23s" https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/sp...ws/derby-county-wayne-rooney-kirchner-6998109 Obviously there were contract considerations at play in the above circumstances, but still - not a great look to have two managers call you out on your attitude.
Let's be honest, he's a bit pants isn't he. Physically a monster but doesn't seem to know what to do with it, something which Baah has learnt rapidly this season.
