But you know what will happen when we play them !

Notice the big 3 have been kept apart in the draw albeit away from home.

Obviously I still don't think it will end up this way, but it would be an absolutely incredible blow to their all round morale if Everton somehow contrived not to make it out of this cup tie. Frank's reign in tatters after a month.

Funny watching Doucoure lumbering around the pitch uninterested and uninvolved, much like his last couple of years with us.

While Boreham Wood aren't among my favourite non-league clubs for reasons I gave here, and I don't think being humbled or even going out of the cup by them will have much if any of a negative impact on Everton's season, they're still a local team and I'd like to see them pull off another shock.

But then they need to have more of the ball and actually have a shot on goal for that to happen! Or maybe they'll win on penalties after 0-0 AET?

Well that disallowed goal which was rightly ruled out going by the current laws of the game won't matter now.

Just as well as we'd never hear the end of it if Boreham Wood had somehow got back into the game.

Good effort by the Wood though.

Another mid week game for us then too.

Chelsea want Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final at Middlesbrough to be played behind closed doors "for matters of sporting integrity" .

    • Chelsea said they made the request to the Football Association "with extreme reluctance" after being unable to sell their full allocation of 4,620 tickets.
    • A statement read: "Chelsea FC recognises that such an outcome would have a huge impact on Middlesbrough and its supporters, as well as our own fans who have already bought the limited number of tickets that were sold before the licence was imposed, but we believe this is the fairest way of proceeding in the current circumstances."
'Not the full away allocation sold, make it behind closed doors'
    Are they trolling?

Not sure if I want Chelsea to lose because of this, or win and not be able to sell any tickets for Wembley.

It's a nonsense request but yet I can see why they've made it. They've got nothing to lose.

Worried about the mighty Boro support over whelming their players!?

How could that happen anyway? - Boro fans have brought tickets, the VIP boxes would have been sold, programs done, catering planning in place etc.

It would cost Boro loads if they lost all that and had to pay people back.

Least Middlesborough can probably save on police costs without any away fans.

Simple fix, let the FA sell the tickets directly to registered Chelsea supporters and then donate the cash raised to a Ukraine charity.

I don’t see why they’ve made the request at all. Nothing to lose? How about losing any sympathy/good will they may have from neutrals over their sanctions.

It’s an away game in the FA Cup, probably the biggest game Boro have had in years. It’s a money spinner for them and a great chance to get to the semi.

Chelsea have sold tickets, and I should imagine Boro have already sold out their allocation.

How about Chelsea send back their allocation and give it to Boro fans? No, because that would be the right thing to do.

I just hate the arrogance of these top clubs. It’s disgusting to even make the request in the first place.

I’m surprised they didn’t request behind closed doors at Stamford Bridge, as a generous gesture from them as Boro wouldn’t have to pick up the running costs of hosting a match in an empty stadium.

    Great team goal by Palace

Hurts to say but the current Palace set up is pretty much everything I'd like us to be. Buying young/championship players with huge potential, young up and coming manager, play good positive football, loan good players rather than turds. To think we were equal/better than them a few years ago.

How Everton beat Newcastle is beyond me. Really do lack confidence going forward and their squad is probably worth ours about five times over. Palarse are coasting into the Semis.

People will tell you that we can’t do any of that because their extra 3000 seats make them another £3m a year, so we can’t compete.

Seem to do ok till they went behind them Everton lost all confidence and morale .

Everton will be glad there are 3 worse teams .

Surely have to bin Lampard off at the end of the season regardless though, looking like a really awful appointment

Did Everton play a full-strength team?

If not, hard to judge their survival prospects based on this game, after all Bournemouth lost 6-0 at Norwich in the League Cup.

Classic case of why the big clubs argue for the 5 subs in this game, they often don’t make 3 subs in tight games but the moment they go 4-1 up Pep immediately brings on three subs.

Some of Citee's football is scary at times - they are so good. Only blemish they had was some needless time wasting - that throw in towards the end (lead to their third goal) was taking the mickey a little bit. Not long to we get our seasonal thrashing by them.

I see Zouma has just scored an own goal against Spurs. He can’t even go home and kick the cat. Bad times.

Forest haven’t been to Wembley for 30 years.

    We’ve been 4 times in a decade.

Supporting Watford isn’t THAT bad, is it?

TBF losing 0-6 in the FA cup final is nothing .
There are around 3500 people including myself who can say that they saw Watford play when
bottom of the old Division 4 (League 2 for the teenagers)

Plenty of teams have been bottom of Div 4. Only one other team has been beaten 6-0 in the FA Cup final.

In 1880, we didn’t even have people who could say they watched a Watford game.
