Estimations have definitely gone up. But it's still going to be tough to even just survive.

I will admit that I was very pessimistic, and I know full well that one game does not a season make, however I feel a lot more optimistic after savouring that performance.

Having a real life striker on the pitch makes a massive difference. It also keeps Gray and Deeney on the sidelines which is huge.

I think you can now see the club have turned a bit of a corner. I think the work Giaretta is doing is quite remarkable. Our net spend is around £6m this season (give or take) and for that we've signed Dennis, Kucka, Etebo, King, Louza, Rose, Louza and Fletcher. I think that's pretty impressive.

Added to that, keeping Sarr, adding Cucho, and signing young talent such as Mebude, Pollock, Baah, Angelini. Getting good loans for Phillips, Dahlberg, Cukur and Mebude.

Say it quietly, but it's suddenly looking to be a good place to be. Vibrant, progressive with good people making good decisions.

This season is still one where survival is paramount, and it's small steps, but I like what we're doing and the direction we appear to be going in.
