Here's a personal favourite: "The social media dribblers are out in force as usual. "omfg wot a signin! wel dun gino!" they shout, ignoring the key facts that they've never seen him play and that he's obviously sh*te." The mocking of people praising the signing for not seeing him play, whilst also declaring him as 'obviously sh*te' when also not seeing him play, makes this one extra special.
August 2nd: We regret to announce that Emmanuel Dennis suffered a ruptured ACL in last night's 3-0 defeat to Sheffield United
Dennis is not the type to down tools, just look at him smiling during meaningless pre-season game before the season has started, and with ages to go until the window shuts. An utterly bizarre reach for anyone to make. I can just see it now when he’s sold, but, but remember when he smiled in July?
Dennis or Sarr changing is a complete game changer to our prospects I agree. I am not sure what risks that will mean we are taking with our finances though. I guess with Cucho gone if we could sell Sarr for £20m we might be able to justify keeping Dennis for a one year tilt.
Keep both is my take too. Imagine Dennis, Sarr, Pedro and even Aprilla (who will become the best player in the world) along with Manaj as back up…….oh and Bayo but best not dwell on that one too long, but what a potent forward line. Just wow.
Great as long as the players are motivated and we have a plan b for paying back the £50m debt if we don’t get promoted and the value of both players drops by next summer.
He might be sold but he looks happy. I would say that’s a good. Not one to down tools but has refused to get on a coach when somebody is in his seat!! With so little positivity it’s nice to see the players smiling.
Looking in from the outside, I’d imagine Edwards is a coach who would get people smiling and happy in their work. He seems a real people person. In my opinion that could be worth a few extra league points as the season progresses.
It's even more of a bizarre reach to try and make out he's downed tools or is just about to after he's played well and seemed happy during a meaningless pre-season game.
Yes it is a bizarre reach indeed, because that isn’t remotely what I said or suggested. As the forums all seeing eye I’d expect your reading and comprehension to be of a much better standard. Perhaps go back and read the the messages again before you add them to your files.
It is clearly what you were suggesting - you were sarcastically reminding people that supposedly Dennis is the type to "down tools" and also that there's "ages to go until the window shuts", i.e. even if he's smiling now there's still time left for him to throw a strop.
Bizarre take, I simply (very politely) pointed out to Optimistichornet that saying “Dennis doesn’t seem like the type to down tools” was an impossible judgement call to make, and of all our players it’s hardest of all to make about Dennis because he’s our most erratic and unpredictable player, I even said in the same post “I’m not saying he is the type to down tools”. It was then pointed out by you that he can’t be the type to down tools because he looked happy in training, to which I responded that was obviously meaningless and can’t be used to judge either way. Why can you never just admit when you’re wrong?
If that is the case, I will prefer Dennis stay and Sarr get sold. Am sure if Dennis have a good season in the championship and seems happy and doesn't try to force a move, a good team struggling for goals will be willing to pay more than 20m for him. In his first season in EPL, he gave a good account of himself despite playing in a very poor team plus he has champions league experience. Unlike Sarr, I think he worth much more than the 20m we want for him. Let's not forget that before we signed him, he has in the past been linked with some top EPL team which shows that most teams already knows his quality before he signed for us. But now that he his available to make a move, some of those teams are reluctant to pay the 20m because they think with us being relegated, they can get him for less than 20m. They know about his attitude issues and how desperate we are for money, so they are waiting for him to try and force a move so they can get him on a cheap. Sent from my TECNO P701 using Tapatalk
That's some highly selective quoting there, you went on to say in the same post: "Nobody can actually say with any confidence he’s not the type to down tools, out of all the players in our squad I’d be least confident about saying he’s not the type to down tools." It was during a friendly match, not "training". But my inference was that he currently doesn't seem to have downed tools, even though he's not been sold yet, so I don't know what's the point in second-guessing or assuming that he suddenly will?
Yes thank you for quoting me, can you actually read? Do you understand what the word not means in the context of that sentence? Nobody was second guessing anything, I was simply saying how can you say with any confidence that “he doesn’t seem the type to down tools?”. Out of all of the players in our squad, who would you say is more likely to down tools than Dennis then if you had to predict?
I do understand what it means, and it's clear you're still trying to insinuate that Dennis will down tools - why else are you asking me to predict whether he's supposedly more likely to than anyone else in the squad? The answer to your question is irrelevant anyway - the point is he hasn't downed tools right now and there's no point in assuming he's about to or trying to "predict" that he will - regardless of what has happened occasionally in the past. The signs are he's currently enjoying his football, so what's going to suddenly change? Maybe Edwards has got the morale of the squad up and no one will down tools?!
Sigh, its pointless having a discussion with you because you only hear what you want to hear. Have the last word, as always.
The bedwetters appear to be changing their tune, after a friendly win against Wycombe. Exciting times
Nah when we are 15 pts clear with 3 games to go they will be moaning about the poor quality squad going into the next PL season
The latest club interested in Dennis. Nottingham Forest looking at £25m Watford man, report reveals - The72 Forest are spending big in this window.
You’ve either got to go for it or do a Norwich, no point in absolutely half arseing it like we did, buying shyte like Kalu and Kayembe.
Doesn't make up for the fact that they have a manager with a face like a Yorkshire pudding which has been left out in the rain
