Can't wait for that Everton fan to come on here tell us all the fee is waaaaay lower than whatever's reported and there's no sell on clause because why would there be as Everton know what they're doing.

he is a bit like Richalison but without the ability to run with the ball.

he does however fall over and then look pissed when he doesn’t get a free kick and sulks when he doesn’t get his own way

    I think he'll do alright.

In a side where he isn't the main man, where he might be motivated to succeed, he could do well. Shame Everton are probably as close to us in the basket case stakes as any club.

I think the big wage Everton are stupid enough to pay will be his decline. Even at his shittest for us you could argue why should he pass to a player on twice his salary that's twice as *****

I think he will never beat last season with us. We made him a consistent player. We make a profit on him f9r his efforts. Job done. Will he get stuck in or play with injuries on a bigger contract. No.

The slimmest of chances Sarr stays, but someone will stump up money for Dennis, even if it's a cut-price deal on deadline day

Not much in Sarr according to Mr Leventhal.

you are probably right , will be interesting to watch him in another side to see if he is really the player from the first half of the season or the player from the second half

I think there is serious interest in Dennis, but it doesn't mean that a) he's the only player of his type around, and b) that teams will just automatically stump up £20m on him. As for Sarr, I'm sure clubs would love to take a cheap punt on him, but such is his decrease in stock that it seems team are baulking at even £20m for him

Yep I imagine they were tentatively budgeting £50m for the pair. If that ends up at £30m it doesn’t bode well, even with Cucho to plug half the gap. We are running out of saleable assets such is the valueless dross throughout the squad.

  18. Hogg-DEENEY!!!

    Hogg-DEENEY!!! Squad Player

Players we can get rid of without seriously messing up our plans:

    Genuine assets:
    Dennis (£20m)
    Sarr (£20m)

Players who could earn us a few mil: Pussetto, Masina (Samir and Kiko also in this category, although they could both be useful players for the first team if they aren't absolutely desperate to go). Perhaps Dahlberg too, and maybe one of WTE/Sierralta (I suspect they'll be fighting it out for one spot at the heart of the defence)

Get them off the wage bill: Rose, Penaranda

Sadly, while none of these deals seem completely pie in the sky on their own, it might be pie in the sky to suggest they all happen, and certainly for them all to happen quickly enough to ever feel secure if a big offer comes for someone like Louza, JP or Kamara

    Just **** off.

You don’t want to be here. That much is clear.

So hurry up and sort out a move.

Then we can all move on and replace you with free transfer crap punts.

Malts mate, genuinely are you okay?

I’m not one of those who thinks that displaying anger on here necessarily means something is wrong elsewhere - it’s totally allowed and even justified! But there’s been a big increase in the last few days of angry posts from you that all follow the same trend - and some seem a little OTT!

    DM’s are open mate, always.

As for Dennis - not really sure what he’s done to be told to f*ck off or how it’s clear he doesn’t want to be here. The last we heard from him seemed to be a genuinely nice and positive comment about the club on social media!

I’m sure he will go. But it’s not incumbent on him to sort out a move - it’s for agents and clubs etc. If no one is offering a sensible deal, then why should we accept?

We can’t complain about the finances on one hand and then try and shove players out the door for any old price with the other!

Yes I’m sure he is a nice guy and I am one of many people who enjoyed him playing for us.

I’m just tired of his and Sarr’s future dragging on now.

We don’t want another circus developing of them still being here in a month, and training alone etc. We had enough of that with other players two seasons ago.

It cannot be beyond the wit of man to sort of deals for those who see their futures elsewhere.

It’s in danger of becoming another farcical saga.

Agree with this, and with the Malts comment too. My DM is open for him also.

But with Dennis, I like him. He's done nothing wrong as far as I can see. He's always tried when playing. Maybe a little too self-indulgent at times, but overall was by far our best signing last season, and one of the few we're actually going to make decent money on.

However, I'm not of the thought that these players should be ostracised. We are paying their wages, they are talented players, and while still at the club, should be used. Play them until they go. I don't believe in the squad morale nonsense. Players want to win football matches (yes, even our ones believe it or not) and no one is going to kick up a fuss if we used Dennis and Sarr for a few matches before the window closes, if it means we win a few extra games.

I saw Burnley training. Even though Cornet wants to leave, he's still part of things with them, because they know his worth to the club. If they can use him in the early games, which includes against us, I'm sure they will. So, it's the self-inflicted denial of using these players, for some idealistic squad morale reason, I don't agree with.

I totally agree about the non ostracising.

It was poor management to let it happen two seasons ago, and I fear a repeat.

No players should be made to train alone.

Until they leave, they are ours and should be treated accordingly.

By the sounds of it, his side of the deal is the easiest to sort out, it's getting the clubs to stump up an acceptable amount that's the tricky bit!

Everton not wanting to pay much up front is apparently an issue - although it's common for a fee to be spread over the length of the deal, I think the initial payment generally tends to be the biggest and then works down from there over the contract length.

I suspect Everton only wanting to pay £3m-£5m to us this summer as the first payment isn't really acceptable.

Had we stayed in the PL (yeah right) then Dennis' value would of been greater or about on par to what it was when we bought him. Being a Championship player now has had an impact on his worth. Personally, I would like us to keep Dennis. I feel this is a
division he could excel in and maybe find his shooting boots again. Especially if we end up losing Pedro, who is right now our only seasoned forward. Wages will always be a reason for a relegated side to let their assets go. He could end up scoring 20 goals and having a brilliant new partnership with JP. It's a pipe dream I know, but hey a girl can dream. ;)

Especially so in Sarr's case. There hasnt been the demand for him that the club thought there would be and what interest there has been hasnt been near the value the club where looking for apparently. Things can change, but its looking likely he wont be leaving this window

Yep, although I'm not sure where he would fit into the new system. For me, I think it would be a good idea to extend his contract and we let him either leave on loan, or we use him until the World Cup. Then we could use that as a shop window and sell in January, hoping he'd have pulled up a few trees in the meantime.

Still best part of two months to go of this window so to say it's looking likely he won't go at this point is maybe a little over the top

As a championship club we don’t have the means to extend Sarr’s contract that would in any way make him agree to extending it.

We would need to up his wage significantly for it to be worth his while, and he’s already one of our top earners. I doubt we’d have the resources to do it as a PL club, let alone a championship one who was actually relying on selling him in the first place to make ends meet.

We just need to accept the situation and cut our losses on this dud, what do you realistically think the chances are of him suddenly “pulling up trees” in the next 6 months that would justify the risk of offering him a contract extension he would actually sign?
