Absolutely outrageous, she could've gone out with any of us studs who still use a football forum in 2024 and argue about which colour shorts are better.

Hopefully more successful than the last one where he was absolutely crucified by his own fans.

Indeed…and The Ozark Mountain Daredevils have a lot to answer for…
‘It don’t matter what is said, we can wake up from the dead and roll away the stone.’

Perhaps controversially, I have always preferred it to 'All the Young Dudes', albeit that is also very good.

MTH are a little underrated, imo.

Absolutely, though they only made the big time after a helping hand from Bowie, otherwise they were about to quit (we've discussed this before, i know).

Their 1970 album 'Mad Shadows' had some good songs on, especially 'Thunderbuck Ram', but yes they were persuaded not to quit by Bowie who then donated 'Dudes' to them.

Yep. "The Golden age of Rock'n'roll" was the 3rd or 4th single I bought as a 10 year old kid. A lot "cooler" than the other dozen songs or so I bought that year ! Their last top 30 hit....I was too young for their peak chart years of '72 and '73.

I was in possession of 'Mad Shadows' for a while. Me and my mates operated a pretty flexible approach to 'owning' albums in those days....the ones you departed a party carrying often bore little resemblance to those you arrived with! It has meant that some I really continued to like have needed buying on CD since.

Mad Shadows is awesome: manic, overwrought and bombastic at times, produced by one of the strangest people ever to inhabit the world of rock music, but a work of genius, nonetheless. All their first six albums are great, if often uneven.
I spent several formative years trying to look and sound like Ian Hunter.
