More like 5 or 6, I poked my head out for rocketman and my wife hadn't moved at all in the three or so minutes of the song or the next one for that matter.

I echo all the sentiments above.
Elton was amazing and great to see the band again, especially Ray Cooper, raving mad! When I first saw SEJ in '78 or 9 ( pre Mansfield away, which we also went to) I thought Ray Cooper was about 50!
Clearly not although he now looks like a hybrid of Thanatos and Victor Meldrew!
His speech about the club brought a tear to my eye and I've half a mind to renew my season ticket on the strength of it.
All those going tonight are in for a treat.
    Enjoy!

Can see Your Song being adopted as an anthem, works well with a crowd as did Crocodile Rock.

For anyone t was there last night what time would I need to get to outside the stadium to be on time today? I'll have to leave work early and was planning on food in town first...

We got there at 6 expecting to wait ages and were in by five past. It was easy going, including the searches, but I don't know if it got busier later getting in. Bigger thing was the queues inside, so if you turn up not needing to buy food/drink or with a woman who needs the toilet (gents were fine) you'll be sorted I suspect even if you're there close to 7.

Plus we went in through the 'wrong' Rookery turnstile block, having walked down Occupation Road and found they'd put a barrier up behind the Rookery, and the tickets worked fine.

After a season in the most exciting league in world football, the fact that many people have named last night as their best experience at the Vic this past year just sums up what a total shitshow last season was.

Many people involved should hang their hands in shame.

Or even better, just **** off out of our club actually.

Last night was superb. What a legend Elton is. Still performing and belting out his classics at 75 years of age. Incredible.

Seemed to be everyone from a Watford persuasion was there. So many wearing Watford shirts. Pretty sure I saw Gino. Richard Walker was there, obviously we all saw Rob Edwards. Bumped into Kelly Somers, from BBC and Sky Sports, she was with her mum there as a fan.

It seemed like a Watford match rather than a concert, so many chants of Elton John's Taylor Made Army, Yellows and You 'Orns. Atmosphere better than most games.

A really good night out.......and the most enjoyment I've had at VR since that Liverpool 3-0 game.

Fantastic gig. As others have said, much better than any other performances we’ve seen at the Vic, for a very long time.

Atmosphere was great, and it was also heartwarming to see that Elton’s still got it, not just for the singing, but also for understanding what Watford Football Club is all about.

Rob Edwards walked past us and was met with a great fan reception, and was also followed by a smarmy looking Scott Duxbury, who didn’t get the same attention as Edwards, that he perhaps wanted.

All in all though, it’s drawn a line under what was such a shambolic season last year… hoping we can go into our new season with players that “will play with a lot more ******* passion!”.

We got there at half four, so insanely early as no warm up act.

Great atmosphere and even the build up was friendly and fun.

A credit to all those there and to a great performance by Elton and co.

The band looked ancient but were truly amazing and on it for every song.

Elton loves the club and you could see he was still loving performing too.

Please let's not make Your Song our anthem. It would become a terrible dirge being sung by a football crowd.

I found the whole night really cathartic/healing.

Didn't realise quite how apathetic and disconnected I felt from the club at the end of last season until yesterday.

I felt quite emotional seeing everyone come together with thousands of Watford shirts, the crowd chanting Watford songs, and Elton's passionate speech. And I left feeling excited for next season.

What a performance in so many ways from Elton and a massive privilege to be there. COYH!

The only song I can think which would work, as it has an anthemic tone, is Crocodile Rock. It worked well with the crowd last night.

You need to get on Twitter as by the looks of it there is going to be a bloody dance routine to go along with it.

If last season is anything to go by, "I guess that's why they call it the blues" could be quite apt.

We could change the lyrics to "We're Watford, so that's why we lose". Fits quite nicely.

What a show last night was.

My dad (who I used to go to all the games with when we were still regulars) isn’t in the best of health these days and struggles to get about - but last night we went to VR together for the first time in many years and it genuinely felt like one of the best. From sharing the train carriage on the way there with Alec Chamberlain and having a chat, to meeting Mooney on the way to the ground and then seeing some old faces too - was very emotional for my dad to say the least!

With all the negativity around the UK at present, me and my family have openly questioned in the last few weeks whether coming over from NYC for the summer was a good choice! But last night cemented the decision that it was.

If that’s the last time me and my old man manage to get to VR together, it was perfect….apart from the time it takes to get a drink!

Great concert! Not much more to be added that hasn't already been said apart from:

    a) Official merch is way overpriced (£30-£45 for a T-shirt) but you can get cheap feather boas, rainbow hats & big glasses from street vendors if you want to join in the inclusivity vibe. The latest Hornet Shop Elton/Watford merch has mostly sold out.
    b) Those hoping to make a quick getaway as soon as the final chords of 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road' are played - you'll be held back against your will in Occupation Road for a few minutes until Elton has been driven off pretty sharpish to escape the hordes/traffic!

Occupation Road was a nightmare, I left just before GYBR as I'm on crutches and was getting picked up by cab from Palace Theatre, and the stewards refused to let us walk up OR and instead sent us down to Cardiff Road. Bloody nightmare.

That being said my parents left five minutes later and were let through.

We needed to get to the hospital side at the end for our pick up and I was a bit concerned they'd not let us from the pitch out to the Upper GT concourse, given we had to come in via the Rookery, but they did with no fuss at all. It was more free-flowing than the end of a football match too, so that might be a quicker way for anyone wanting to get out onto Vicarage Road pronto at the end.

We went last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. An uplifting experience.

His love for the club is clear and like all of us he is a fan. We all have differing views on how the club is run and what we should be expecting by way of player sales/purchases/loans.

EJ's statement about showing some f.....g passion resonates with me-we may not get promoted this season and leaving aside the financial implications of this I am looking forward to seeing Edwards deliver on his stated aims for the players and their commitment.

As we left, we bumped into Luther and Kenny Jackett and I asked Luther whether he had accepted the offer of becoming Life President-he said " not yet" I wonder what he is waiting for-but he is hardly going to tell me. Like EJ he is another fan.

WFC is an all inclusive club...

The ladies commandeered the stalls in the gents while the gents continued to use the urinal troughs. Queues round the block for the ladies for all toilets.

Hoping that Elton rebuys the club after that. I know it’s highly unlikely but he just gets it. I’m clingy to the hope that he said when the tour finishes he will be at VR a lot more.

If Edwards and the players aren’t fired up after Elton’s speech then we’re doomed. I love that Elton also said when Watford lose it ruins his weekend. Just a proper fan.
