Didn't someone suggest him on this forum...

I think a few of us have mentioned him from time to time, especially when it was mentioned that Arsenal were prepared to let him go.

He’s not bad (apart from that awful miss against Villa that was so costly for us) but I think the fee mentioned would put us off.

We’d be rivalling Watford , who paid £18m for Andre Gray.

Andre Gray finished top scorer in the championship. We massively overpaid but he was at least a very good championship striker.

Nketiah got sent packing in January after scoring 3 goals in 17 games.

His entire reputation is from U23 football which means **** all.

Brighton also interested. At that price they can have him.

A little misleading as of those 17 games for Leeds, only 2 were starts. A goal every 165 mins isn't bad as a teenager.

Agree though that he hasn't exactly proven himself in men's football, and £15m would be a big risk. I'd definitely take a punt for around £5m though

Final year of his contract. £5mil upfront, £5mil in add ons based on performances etc.

But we didn't sign him this season. We signed him 1 year after he finished top scorer.

Andre Gray is now **** - I am not arguing otherwise.

Well it's all adding up to young hungry players like has been suggested. I haven't seen a lot of him so I can't give any opinion. But he does have a mental record for the England U21's. He must be better than what we have though.

But then you ask the question - why was he not good enough to start more than 2 games? why were leeds happy for him to leave in January?

We already have two promising young strikers / forwards in Pedro and Cucho. I can't help but feel we need someone who is already a bit more of the finished article.

What is his whoscored.com rating ?

Impossible to know whether he’s any good without this info up front .

I dunno but his xQW is 73.45. If anything shouts ‘keep clear’ it’s that.

Hasn't impressed me in any game I've watched. Seems to come on for Arsenal and the game dissipates into nothing. Would steer clear of anyone that Arsenal are looking to sell.

I'm not convinced by him, he's an alright poacher but his all-round game is not good enough to be a lead-the-line striker in the PL yet (if ever). Arsenal fans seem to think the same as well.

For around £15mil we should be aiming for players capable of being regular starters that can keep us up, I'd be surprised if Nketiah is that.

Us signing him would seem another investment-type of signing who'd either stick with us if we got relegated or should keep some resale value if we had to sell, yet at the same time could be a false economy as they'd just be cementing our failure next season.

Yes from me. He’s better than what we have. He’s young and hungry. Will only get better with game time. You don’t become England’s all time top scorer at youth level if you have nothing about you.

Surprised there's so much negativity over this. I think he'd be a great signing for us. Young with some pedigree. Not really good enough for a top six club (Arsenal top six :D ), but the next level of club down he'd be pretty decent.

Technically good with some pace. Get him for the right price and watch him develop. Would fit our current strategy and he is not a complete new comer to the Premier League. I'd be quite happy if we managed to get this one over the line.

I guess because he was 19 and had an established Championship goalscorer ahead of him, who ended up scoring 16 goals. Bielsa was never going to favour an on loan teenager who the club had no chance of signing permanently.

From what I can see he's made about 28 starts in men's football, and scored about 18 goals. Granted I think a few of those probably came against lower league opposition in cup games, but he's shown he can score goals when given a chance.

I think he'll probably go on to have a decent PL career if he makes the right move, but I agree it may be safer for us to go for a more established striker, especially if Arsenal are set on the £15m fee.

He’s not. Very talented youngster with mass potential. We will sell him for £50m+. I bet Arsenal put some buy back clause or sell on fee when they let him go. If they don’t whoever gets him is taking the gooners pants down.

Not sure how anyone can turn their nose up at this one. Quite clearly better than what we have with plenty of improving still to do. We're never paying the money Arsenal want anyway.

I just find it a bit odd that for two years now he has been behind strikers struggling to score goals and yet has still not been given a look in.

16 goals looks okay without context, but when you consider how many chances Leeds created I think Andre Gray would score that many even on current form. Bamford obviously has gone on to have a very good season this year, but I think there is a very good reason Bielsa went out and spent £30m on a forward and why lots of Leeds fans wanted him gone.

Nketiah may well go on to have a good career but I can't see how people are so certain he will do on the basis of his career to date. Particularly when we have seen what happened with other very highly rated youngsters like Solanke, Brewster, Woodburn etc.

If he was on the market for £5-10m and we were a fairly established mid table team, he is probably worth a gambles and there is potential there. I just think we need more of a sure thing - even if his potential is not as high.

Not that odd he wasn’t given the chance. Arteta new to the job, Emery trying to save his job. That’s two occasions coaches rarely rely on youth plus only playing 1 up top puts him further down the pecking order behind players bought for millions.

Arteta has used lots of youth though - more than happy to rely on Saka and Emile Smith Rowe over players that cost millions.

The Arsenal board would of had a meltdown if either coach chose him over the 2 (not going to bother trying to spell them) superstars they have in that position

Also Saka might be youth but he’s one of Arsenals better players who is almost one of first names on the team sheet.

    He'd ok.

Would welcome him to see what he can do.

    £15m is too much though.

Wages? No idea if we could match what others will offer.
