Does anyone have any experience purchasing drones?

Doing a bit of research into them at the minute, would be quite keen to get a half-decent, beginner level drone.

Purely for personal use (not commercial or anything) and really just to take some videos of outdoor trips such as hiking, kayaking, surfing, etc.

I also have a mavic mini. I used it about 10 times, got fed up of pi**ing someone off every single time I used it, (including a dog attempting to attack it), so haven't used it for over a year now. When I originally got it I registered myself and the drone properly, did a bit of online training, made some nice videos locally, but as I've already said, seemed to have to hide away to be able to use it without grief so it's gathering dust.

Make me a good offer and it's yours.

agree with the nuisance element , in fact I think it’s now illegal to fly over people (might be wrong), but they have definitely tightened up the rules around where you can fly.

interestingly the uk drones are also restricted in terms of distance they can fly , if you apply a simple hack you can still control them up to 1/2 mile away (not sure I would trust that though)

Think I'll probably start out with one of the ones <£100 so it would be out of my price range for now!

I'm thinking I'm better to get a cheap one to practice with and see if my interest in it persists before spending a bit more and getting one that can take decent footage.

i have had a couple of cheap ones, to be honest they have all been really bad, terrible quality video and pretty hard to fly. I think they are better now and brands like holy stone are supposed to be ok as a budget brand , I think their is a budget DJI also called Ryze Tello
