Do You Think Luton Will Go Down?

Would be a real shame if we were to lose next weekend!

 

I think after yesterday's poor performance we have no option but to "play the kids".

 

If , as I suspect, we pick up very little this week and the season is finished maybe Tom, if he is reading this , will play the Bachmann\Bayo combo against Hull and Plymouth just to ensure a couple of home defeats and would be another nail in Lewtons coffin .

 

Doumbia’s injury looked nasty, important we don’t rush him back and risk worsening his injury! As for the goalkeeping situation, if Selvik isn’t going to be here next season we should play the man who is!

 

Why's Selvik maybe not going to be here next season? Never say never with Pozzo but he's our player and was quite clear this week he's here though choice.

 

Missed that! I thought I’d heard something that said he could be off to Udinese in the summer

 

There was a rumour about some sort of clause enabling him to return. But doesn't seem like it.

 

Selvik is a step up from Bachmaan but will end up being booed in 6 months.

 

Not disputing any of that Skyla. Just two elements to take into consideration.

The first being Pozzo, who will continue to undermine the side due to his past actions resulting in a lack of investment meaning ES will face these scenarios far more frequently next season.

The second is the modern Watford fanbase who enjoy nothing more than a whinge and whine after 5 minutes.

 

Not sure which other will give up other than Derby, but they just ended a long winless run in a tricky game and their goal difference isn't bad for a bottom three side.

Cardiff and Stoke were unable to pull clear last weekend but they both had tough games and seem to be showing more fight than Luton. Stoke aren't on a particularly bad run, they've just been consistently poor all season but should do enough.

 

I think Oxford are the ones to look at. Decent [point at Norwich Saturday but they have a tough run in.
Luton probably need 5 wins in the last 10 games. Tough when you've only won 8 out of previous 36. If it was anybody else I would say they were down but I know they will get out of it like they did the year before they were promoted. Tonight's game is massive. Come on Cardiff

 

Yes I've said D, Ply & Ox. Ox were in an undeserved position and are falling like a stone. Tonight's game is huge. Hopefully the crowd will get behind the home side given the importance. I fear a 0-1.

 

I think you're thinking of 2019/20 (three years before they got promoted) when they were 10 points from safety and looked relegation certainties, before Nathan Jones came back and did a rescue job.

Not one of the better seasons, getting relegated and that lot somehow managing to dodge relegation back to League 1!

 

Without covid I have no doubt we would have stayed up and Luton gone down. Killed our momentum and gave them a chance to reset, fire Graeme Jones & get Jones back in.

 

And by ‘killed our momentum’ of course you mean we jacked it in because we didn’t think the season would start again! Apparently there was a bit of ill-feeling towards Nathan Jones from the scummers when he left for Stoke, so for him to come back when there were no crowds was a canny move by them, I’m half worried they’ll try to pull the same trick again

 

Yes at least he has a job right now so won’t be so desperate to go back there ….but it has to be a possibility.

 

Having seen Bloomfield's travails after having left a club near the top of League 1, hopefully he'd think twice if the job did become available!

Think its 50/50 still on if they go down or not. On one hand I cant see them picking up many more points from their remaining games, let alone wins. Stoke away is winnable, Boro at home maybe though they seem to have turned a corner. Cant see either Hull or Derby gifting them a win like Cardiff did tonight. On the other hand Cardiff and Stoke look they are in real trouble and could very well drop into the relegation places

Have faith . Dr Watford still have Oxford, Hull and Plymouth to play .
But if Lewton do stay up I hope Cardiiff go down in their place after last night's debacle

 

Still think Scummers will go down .

I expect Derby to survive now they have Eustace , who has proven to be highly skilled at getting a group of lesser players to perform above their collective ability.

Hull seem to be picking up wins here and there and have some good players .

Realistically leaves 3 from 4 , Plymouth , Scum , Cardiff and Stoke .

Stoke win tonight at home to Blackburn would put them 5 points plus gd ahead of scum .

This is almost as exciting as if we were going for the play offs
