Starting to actually hope they stay up as beating them next season is about the only thing to look forward to. mind the gap

 

Lovely 0-1 defeat today after picking up a bit of form. All of a sudden they look in real danger again.

A Hull win on Monday followed by a Derby win on Friday would leave them 6 points adrift with 3 remaining. Fingers crossed.

 

3 points off that may as well be 4 with the goal difference. Hopefully Eusty can have Derby up for a result Friday.

 

Really is a must-win for them isn’t it?

 

Can we put the Derby match on the screen while Burnley dismantle us?

 

Their game is the lunchtime game so will be done before ours. Could put a replay on if Derby win though.

 

They probably need 2 wins and a draw from their final 4 to have a chance. Looks like Bristol City, Cov and WBA will all still need points.

Even that would take them to 47 points and the teams they're chasing are sat on 43, 44, 46 already and all with significantly better goal difference and 'easier on paper' run ins

I'd argue they might need 3 wins in reality

I always felt they'd scrape survival but for the first time i'm increasingly convinced they won't

They desperately need a striker. Box to box they are mid table but like today, aren’t taking their chances. Get a decent finisher and I think they would bounce.

 

I see what you’re saying but I think it goes a little deeper than that - not wholly convinced with their keeper and the midfield seem very passive from the little I’ve seen of them.

 

Neither Morris and Adebayo have scored for 20 games+ in a row - pretty shocking. Then the new striker they spent money on in Jan can't score either and now warms the bench already

They're the only team in the league to have scored less than 40 goals (37) in total

 

Their net xG is pretty good but they just aren’t scoring what they should from chances they create and are conceding more than they should from the chances they are giving away. Seems so unfair, sorry I mean hilarious.

The Derby game is a must win. There recent good results against the likes of Cardiff and Hull, have come against teams near the bottom. It would still mean they have 3 tricky games after that, so even if they beat Derby it may well not be enough

 

I think they will have to play their "joker" against Derby to get out of the mess that they are in !

 

Agreed, They need a huge overall of the squad. Difficult with some of the high wages and contract lengths many scum players currently enjoy

What a great result at the weekend. Really thought they would beat Blackburn. Couldn't score even after Backburn went down to 10 men for the last 35 mins. Derby is a must win, lose that and I'll start to believe but still think they will get out of it

That point for Hull might be the one that relegates Luton. It’s looking tight, but Luton have to make up two wins on three teams, to overhaul them. Hull have to play Derby and Portsmouth in the last two games. If Luton fail to gain at least three points from their next two games, the teams around them can play for draws and see the life blood of Championship football drain out of Luton. Derby v Luton on Friday could be the decider. Either side can win, but a draw would not be a disaster for Derby, but could be a killer for Luton.
