Think there's still time for Palace and Leicester to get sucked into it and we have them both to play in some massive 6 pointers.

Can still see us finishing top half. Which is the least we should achieve with all those agent fees :)

Methinks mods should edit this thread to read "we do survive"

I predict a complete non-performance against Burnley will be the day we're relegated. Basically a repeat of the Norwich game where the players can't be bothered to turn up, despite spending the week leading up to it begging fans to come to the game.

We have to win four home games. How difficult is that for. Premier League side?

And hope that Everton don’t get another 10 points from a possible 30, or Leeds 5 from 18. Simple!

5 wins from 8 games and we're probably safe. You gotta believe.

I believe our game against Burnley will determine who stays up between us two. Everton have a terrible run in and the wrong manager in, I can't see them picking up m(any) points.

Despite the multitude of poor decisions on and off the pitch, we are still in with a shout.

    Burnley play Everton next .

They also have Norwich to play and Newcastle/Villa who will be mid table so on the beach potentially.

I think you are right dom, the Burnley match could be the decider, as I too think Everton could well be the 2nd team going down which leaves us and and Burnley for the 3rd spot IMO.

I keep thinking about 1991 - 4 home games in April - 10 points. We moved from being 5 points adrfit at the bottom of the table to survival.

Of course we are in a different league in a different era, but if we break this abysmal home run and win the game against Leeds, the whole dynamic of our run in will change.......

Hopefully we are still in position for it to be a crucial game when it comes around!

Well if you split into home and away PPG and then apply to the remaining games for Everton and Leeds you get +9.1 and +5.8.

You also need to factor in that Everton have gained 10 points from the last 45 available and that Leeds have to play Man City, Arsenal and Chelsea in those 6 games.

Indeed, but we won’t beat Leeds.

A glance at the league table and our recent form tells you all you need to know about our chances of overtaking Leeds (8pts ahead) or Everton (3 points ahead and 3 games in hand). Even if we magically were to win our next couple of games, we'd still be strong favourites for the drop. The game against Burnley may be a key game....in deciding who finishes 2nd bottom and 3rd bottom.

1 place higher is worth about £2m, so Pozzo will be hoping we win that at least.

Everton will probably beat Man U at home if they fancy it which the latter won’t.

Why can't we attract that sort of talent? Guess because he's not one of Mogi's clients.

I think we had Dawson in his "transitional period"? If that makes sense... he was rubbish for us in our relegation season overall and got us off to a great start on the final day of that season. I was surprised when Spam picked him up but pleased he was gone. Looking back, I wonder if we could of developed him into even a small part of how much better he seems to be now. It probably helps having a better defense around you too, but did we let him go too soon?

He is playing alongside Zouma rather than Carthorse, Kalamity Kabs or Muckitup Mapps....

Dawson was never that bad for us, was awful in the Arsenal game but the whole squad was awful after the covid restart, they’d gambled everything on getting the season written off and that backfired massively.

He was pretty ****. It's revisionist to say otherwise just because he's done well for West Ham.

He was gash for us. Utter utter gash and we were all delighted to see him go.

One thing I do know is that, for some reason, he never had the goal threat at set pieces for us that he has had at either West Brom or West Ham.

Got a couple post lockdown but we kept trying long loopy corners I remember and it would just be cleared .
