[SIGNED perm] Dapo Mebude

Couldn't find much about him on the Rangers forum, only a few comments:

"Disappointing about Mebude though, particularly after we lost his brother."
"That's a shame Dapo and NYC could have done well for us."
"Dapo and Kinnear meant to have a future until that covid *****. What a waste."
"Dapo was going before that. His attitude was stinking."

Brentford have also snapped up 'NYC' (Nathan Young-Coombes), a winger who was also well regarded at Rangers but just left supposedly due to homesickness.

Dapo's younger brother was already nicked by guess who? Man City.

Dapo pretty quick and skilful in this (pretty much all youth games I think):



He scores at 1:30 in his loan game:

 

He's listed as a striker in a few places, though he compares himself to Sterling. Seems he can play across the front line.

 

Sounds perfect. Why buy a goalscoring striker to keep us up when we can sign 3 or 4 who won't and who will go well with the other load of unsuitable dross we already have.

 

Forget the attitude problem and covid breaches, if he can score for QoS against Alloa I'm sure he'll be fine.

I doubt he's gonna make it into the Watford FC Jailbirds, Lawbreakers & Criminals XI side. We've got quite a few decent forwards & strikers already. He'll have to make do with a place on the bench.

Yeah he definitely seems a development player rather than one for the senior squad next season.

 

If he signs he has glamour fixtures to look forward to and can bid Alloa goodbye.

 

When he scores we can sing the I like to boogie song and borrow our sisters skirts

I look forward to selling him on a cut-price deal to Swansea in 3 years time

 

If he even turns out good enough that Swansea would buy him in 3 years' time then we'll have done well, considering he's been released by Rangers and we tend not to have a particularly good track record with the free signings of U23s released by other clubs. Either that, or Swansea will have gone on a delightful free-fall to League Two over that time-frame.

 

Destined for the u23s. Nothing to see here.

 

Spoke with Rangers fans, apparently he was one of the players that broke the Covid rules, so he will fit right in.

 

...."good buy" would have been better. Damn....
