The modern trend towards 'wingers' that play on the 'wrong' side and cut inside on to their strong feet, is that more akin to inside right/lefts or outside right/lefts?
None of the players (the ones in the 25 and under anyway) here are going to spend the rest of their careers here, let's not think for a second that any of the lads in the first team had Danny Graham posters on their walls (with the possible exception of Mattie Pollock!)
Could very well be the case. OTOH he could just have a ^%$# for an agent. Get the agent working for us by making sure his boy knows that to get paid he has to produce - instead of against us whinging for a new deal.
Depends on the team. At Chelsea the midfielders Hudson and Cooke were 8 and the striker Hutchinson was 10. At Norwich the central defender Stringer was 4 and the midfielder Anderson 6. But the reverse was more common. Really annoying was Liverpool's Tommy Smith wearing 10 and playing in the back four. And Fulham aping Brazil with a back four wearing 2, 3, 4 and 5. Not to mention Argentina numbering their players in alphabetical order at one World Cup, which meant Ossie Ardiles at no. 1.
France in 1984 were kinda alphabetical. That team, that won the Euros were majestic. Platini, Tigana, Girrese, Bellone, Batiston, Bossis, Bats, Amaros Fernandez etc
1. Goalkeeper 2. Right back 3. Left back 4. Right half 5. Centre half 6. Left half 7. Right wing 8. Right inside forward 9. Centre forward 10. Left inside forward 11. Left wing 12. (from 1965) Substitute
Do we have forward pivots now? If Deeney is one then Archemides would need one of his theoretically enormous, world moving levers to get him to move.
Danilo wasn't included in the Palmeiras squad last night for their cup game. This is (probably) surprising given he didn't start their previous game.
Saw him filling up with premium diesel at the Shell on Watford Road in Croxley. Make of that what you will.
There was some reporting out of Brazil that he was selected to start but strained his thigh in the warm up.
My Dad had me there from the early 70's I couldn't even honestly say what my first game was. My first season ticket was the start of GT's reign though...
We're all living in Amerigo Amerigo as the Rammstein song goes. Thailand was named after the first tie rack shop opened there before spreading globally.
Yeah it’s funny how tactics go in circles . modern day Cam/winger role very similar to inside forwards . not sure we ll see the 19th C formation of 1-1-8 making a comeback though .
Wasn’t even in the squad for their game tonight. Which they ended up losing on pens. Nothing on him being injured or anything. Seems strange to leave him out considering he was out of their last two games as well. So three games in row he hasn’t even been in the squad and he’s definitely not injured. So I’m just going to assume we’ve signed him. Welcome Danilo.
https://www.uol.com.br/esporte/fute...-palmeiras-de-vender-garotos-veja-valores.htm Apparently Palmeiras are broke and need to sell as they have now dropped out of the Brazilian cup and the Copa Libertadores. Hopefully we can haggle them down from 15m
I have to say Venice wasnt the 1st city that sprung to mind when I was trying to avoid getting mugged wandering around Caracas. I met one guy who was robbed by a couple of cops and then escorted back to his hotel by the same cops on the grounds that it wasnt a safe area =)
I'm 99% sure this will happen, especially with the pound strengthening against the Brazilian Real. Classic Ponzo.
