So bad that he’s been recalled even though he can’t go out on loan again for the rest of the season lol
I'm sure someone will thank him for his sterling efforts and mind-blowing play for us. He certainly missed for us! We'll always have Norwich away and Cardiff at home, sigh. Finally the experiment has ceased. Thank you to Evanilson and Unes Enal, you have saved our season! ♂️ on X: "The Jebbison miss at Norwich where it was actually harder to miss the goal from a yard out." / X
I may be wrong, but I seem to recall reading somewhere that he could play for more than two clubs if the third club played in a league with an overlapping season, such as Sweden. Actually, Jebbison is Canadian, so maybe an MLS loan? Their season is March-November. I never really saw anything that suggested Jebbison was going to cut it here. One goal in 16 appearances in 2022/23 (and only one appearance at all last season) didn’t fill me with much confidence in the first place. Physically he’s also quite slight, so he didn’t seem to fall into a pressing game as he was easily outmuscled and wouldn’t have intimidated a ball-holding keeper. Problem is that we only now have one senior out-and-out centre-forward - and it’s Vakoun Bayo.
You’d think so. Assume we’ll go down the route of a Iheanacho/Cornet type. Al-Hamadi would again be a decent option if we are gonna go for another loan. Otherwise, won’t happen, throw some cash at Wycombe’s Kone or Charlton’s Leaburn.
Still amazed that this bloke was worse than Bayo. Maybe we should build for the future and play Doumbia, even if that sacrifices some results in the short-term
A marker of just how incredibly bad he/this was that Oh Captain Our Captain TC has felt the need to give this incredibly awkward frank assessment of his time here as a parting quote for the club socials:
Quicker to have written ' what an almighty **** up that was.Byeee'. I mean even by our spectacularly p*** poor levels of Mangy Buyout traffic cones and bric a brac dross this was in a medal position. What do they do at Conley all bleeding day?
Watch Gino count out the Transfer sales as he gives TC his "pocket money" for the transfer window budget. "1000.00 for me, 0.10p for you..."
Bloody great and the fact that he's actually been recalled to play in their first team is pretty funny.
Not the first player we have had from a club in the league above (that hurts) remember Danny Rose, Andros Townsend to name just two, did nothing for us but had decent careers! and I'm afraid wont be the last!
I would be amazed if Bournemouth though that Daniel Jebbison was good enough to start for them regularly in the premier league. I think he would struggle against league one defenders.
Goodbye and good riddance!!! He did nothing for us, despite his much vaunted credentials? Maybe he just did not fit onto our style of play, we will never know. I hope the lad goes on to greater things, as long as it is not against us. You won't be missed!!!
I think the only person who is going to feel overly gutted here is Tom. Jebbison was his main target all Summer and was stoked when we landed him on loan. For whatever reason it didn't work out but I hope he uses this as a learning curve to better the research he does into a player's credentials before going after them. Not all signings works out - we've had more than a few in the past. I do hope he can continue to work closely with the recruitment team moving forward.
Agree. He wanted around the place looking like he’d rather be anywhere else whenever he played. It’s a bad signing and it’s 100% on Cleverley.
Bournemouth injury crisis up front (nice one) means they have to recall this waste of space (nice one again). Fingers crossed for an injury crisis with Udineses front line.
I was told he was one of the 7 or so "top targets" Cleverley was after at ST which isn't unusual for Championship clubs. (One of the others was Delap on loan, as was Al-Hamadi) So although not the top target, he wasn't exactly a bargain bin level of target from Cleverley's PoV
